Spotted this work by Mexican artist Edgar Flores aka Saner while in Victoria Park last week. On the side of Zucchero Espresso Bar, painted during the inaugural FORMPublic back in 2014. Saner expresses his art using 'icons from his culture, from the past, images from the Mayans and the Aztecs and Mexican symbols'. Gracias señor Saner for adding colour to a cloudy, dull day. Hope all the mums out there had or are still having a super day, happy Monday, take care and stay safe...

Now that is a great mural. It would look good anywhere here in Arizona.
ReplyDeleteQuite a different look for a koala!
ReplyDeleteA nice series of shots and I'm glad you included the last one as it puts the mural into perspective and makes it less intense for those who just want a cup of java. :)
ReplyDeleteNice mural! I'm afraid I live in a rural mural small town but I do see them in the bigger cities. Have to keep my eyes open :)
ReplyDeleteIt is very cool one, Grace!
ReplyDeleteIt is really something else! Not sure if it's a happy image though the colours are cheerful :)
ReplyDeletevery nice,i like the mural and its contest.. ew
ReplyDeleteThe large figure in the artwork seems to take a keen interest in the passers by. And the small figure on the rail almost seems a little evilish. An interesting one.

ReplyDeleteWe've been to a bit of Mexico and, as far ad I have been told, they do not have koalas. But why not a bit of fancy?
ReplyDeleteTrying to figure out the symbolism of the little munchkin on the right?!
ReplyDeleteInteresting! You should be resting that knee - hope it goes well.
ReplyDeleteThere must be artists travelling the world and painting murals while they do so.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to use aztec art as a basis for the murals Grace.
