In nature nothing is perfect and everything is perfect
Trees can be contorted, bent in weird ways
and they're still beautiful.. Alice Walker
It's true, the branches of the old tree above are gloriously convoluted, a sculpture of nature.. it's a little bit fabulous don't you think! I persuaded Aimee to stop working for an hour yesterday afternoon to frolic in the park and hug trees with me :) We laughed a lot, had so much fun, got many strange looks and offers to join in from passers-by.. all for the love of trees. No time this week-end to pursue my own tree but I have a feeling in my bones this is the week we will come together :) Did you know it was 'Love a Tree Day' today.. hope to see you hugging a tree sometime soon.. happy Monday, take care and stay safe...
every day is love a tree day for me
ReplyDeleteIt is difficult to realize how great a part of all that is cheerful and
ReplyDeletedelightful in the recollections of our own life is associated with trees.

Tree hugging should be an all-season sport. Great photos of the two of you!
ReplyDeleteMy first thought: Three cheers for Love a Tree Day.
ReplyDeleteSecond thought: Oh no, it is Monday already!

I just love seeing trees and watching them change with the seasons ...
ReplyDeleteGreat photo and yes, we should all hug a tree!
Happy Monday, although it's still Sunday night here in the UK as I type this!
All the best Jan
Fun shots, you two!
ReplyDeleteEvery day should be Hug a Tree Day!
ReplyDeleteI promise to hug a tree tomorrow, Grace!
ReplyDeleteHo sweet.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun frolic in the park you must have had.
ReplyDeleteHow fun Grace! I did not know it was "Love a Tree Day". It's funny because I already prepared my post for Monday (which is still tomorrow here) and it has pictures of trees!
ReplyDeleteGood for you two, out there giving those trees the love they deserve. Grace, if it hadn't been for you, I wouldn't have known about this day, so thanks for the heads up.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like you two enjoyed yourselves :)
ReplyDeleteThat second picture is too cute. My granddaughter is standing next to my chair as I type this. Her reaction: hiding!
ReplyDeleteDarn it -- I forgot! (Does it count that I hugged a tree last month for Arbor Day?) Looks like you had a great time. I can only imagine the attention you attracted!
ReplyDeletePretty pictures, pretty trees and pretty young girls, what can go wrong...?
ReplyDeleteHugs to you too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a hoot Grace. Good on you for creating awareness and a bit of fun in the park taboot.
ReplyDeleteThat sure looks like fun, Grace :-)
ReplyDeleteI don't know that day, never heard of it here, but I see you had a lot of fun.

What a great way to celebrate "love a tree day".
ReplyDeleteLove that old rather twisted tree, old trees are often very impessive.
