Detail above from one of my best-loved sculptures in Queens Gardens.. admirers of J.M. Barrie (clue) might guess which sculpture it is from the reflection to the right.. if not, the above link will reveal! I have to confess the detail shot is just a gratuitous segue into the image below, still in Queens Gardens where everything is just luuverly, even the p.c's :) Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe...
Has Peter been making life difficult for Mr. Hook?
ReplyDeleteI do love the shadow clue. Quite a clever shot!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely detail of the sculpture!
ReplyDeleteVery posh, Grace!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great sculpture
ReplyDeleteTres Chic!
ReplyDeleteA delightful and delicate sculpture!
ReplyDeleteThat is the best Ladies & Gents symbol I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteI really like this, especially the way the shadow works so well in the photo too.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy week ahead.
All the best Jan
Love your detail photo of this statue. I guessed who she way before I saw the whole statue. Nicely done, Grace.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful sculpture!
ReplyDeleteOh, Gracie! Such a wonderful sculpture that makes me smile and I have to laugh at my memories. When DH and I were first married I used to call him "Peter Pan"--my mischievous adorable husband at age 26. Alas, he has now grown up, though, but we still laugh about my Peter Pan.
ReplyDeleteI can understand why this is one of your favourite sculptures Grace. The fluidity shows enormous skill.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely detail you captured here, Grace !
ReplyDeleteBoth images shows pretty artistic work. You are happy to have a big city with so much art, so different style. (Is it donated by someone, or is it paid by the council perhaps?)
ReplyDeletePeter Pan was one of my favourite stories as a child. I remember seeing the film when I was about 12 on a visit to Kayalami car racing between Johannesburg and Pretoria. We saw it at a drive-in cinema, all of which have disappeared over the years. Used to love going to the drive-in! Hope all is well Diane
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely statue.
ReplyDeleteOh, my godness, Grace - we took the cats to get to Peter last time - when there was a huge game of cricket at WACA - we were unaware of that.
ReplyDeleteNever in my life have I been squeezed to politely ;-)
This is a magnificent sculpture. I really do love it. Lovely faces on the ladies.I noticed the shadow and the unsidedown rabbit.
ReplyDeleteCette sculpture est vraiment très belle, je comprends que tu l'aimes.
ReplyDeleteBelle journée à toi, Grace :)
