Heart of Darkness Bakery.....!

No it's not as sinister as it sounds, it's the name of these chocolate brownies which have Mars Bar in the centre and marshmallow and caramel sauce topping, you have no idea how wicked they taste!! Today's CDP theme is bakeries, so I went out yesterday to take some shots of a patisserie that I'd heard about in Maylands, French of course. Foiled!!! I should have realized that like my very favorite patisserie Francois in Leederville, most French establishments are closed on Mondays. After a wee bit of 'sacre bleu ing' and Mon Dieu ing' I thought idiot moi!! What's the problem. I live with the queen of baking, mon fille Aimee. So here are just a few of the temptations that I have to face when she takes over my tiny kitchen, is it any wonder I'm always battling those last five kilos!
Vanilla and white choc chip pink cup cakes.....
 Lemon/orange syrup cake.....
Red Velvet cup cake with cream cheese icing.....
Individual vegan Christmas fruit cakes.....
Sticky date pudding cake.....
Brookies (great name oui), brownie texture with cookie flavour.....
Whoopie Pies with green tea cream icing.....
Possibly one of the most decadent, vanilla cupcake with cookies and cream Lindt Ball melted in centre.....

  1. Now I understand that which I was taught about the devil when a young man. He/she does not visit one or make one's acquaintance wearing the appearance of evil, with horns sticking out of his/her head, but rather looking and smelling like delicious pastries - chocolate and caramel melting together in gastronomic excess, and in the guise of whoopie pies and brookies and sticky date pudding cake...

You should probably warn people like me when you post photos like this. They could easily lead to a heart attack caused by a sudden surge of unattainable desire!
