Love is in the air.....
One of the worst things about above ground electricity poles is that they're an eyesore on an otherwise pleasant streetscape..the good thing about above ground electricity poles is that they make a convenient resting spot after a long flight. We're in for some stormy weather in Perth over the next week and apart from the 'loved-up' couple atop the pole (it's not very clear but if you pull the two below images in a bit you can see there's a bit of a crush going on up there) and their entourage, the rest of the flock were a little 'twitchy'. I think if the weather is going to be as bad as they say, I might do some serious snuggling myself!! I'm off to see a French movie today, 'Cafe de Flore' with a title like that you just know it's going to be fantastique oui! Have a fab Friday, stay safe.....

Goodness, so many birds together! Enjoy your movie Grace.
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely shots - that first one is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteEvery bird gathering other than pigeons put a smile on my face, especially when birds are as beautiful as these.
ReplyDeleteNot what I was expecting from your title ... and while I must agree about the eyesore part, I do have several of my own bird-on-a-wire photos.
ReplyDeleteLove these shots of birds that are so exotic for me!
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely birds, Grace... i want one :-)
ReplyDeleteCafé de Flore? I know where it is and have been there but I did not know there was a movie... please let us know what you think.
ReplyDeleteLove the white birds and your first photo is my favorite. They look like parakeets or parrots?
Bises,
Genie
Birds like this make me think of notes of music on a partition!
ReplyDeleteCafé de Flore, a movie about Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir, I guess?...
I do love your birds, Grace!! They bring joy to any sky -- gray or blue! Sorry you're in for bad weather, ours is supposed to move on so that we are promised a sunny weekend! Hmmmm we'll see!! Enjoy the movie and a great weekend as well!

ReplyDeleteMagnifique !! Ce sont des perroquets et en liberté !!!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful, love their soft color!
ReplyDeleteWe don't see those kinds of birds here but in South Florida there are a ton of little green parrots flying about! Cute shots!
ReplyDeletePlease give us a review of the movie after you've seen it. OK?
the bird shots are hitchkockesque !
ReplyDeleteI have been to café de flore several times
but a movie... now I am curious

The birds are corellas ...
ReplyDeleteThat film is on over here, Grace. Let me know what you think. My last two have been disappointing: The Way, and Romantics Anonymous.

This sure beats the pigeons we see on our telephoto wires!
ReplyDeleteMarvellous flock.
ReplyDeleteAre they parrots? Fantastic shots.
ReplyDeleteWish you a nice w.e., Grace!
A big hug from Italy.
Erika
You lucky woman having such birds around. That sky looks just like ours!
ReplyDeleteI think all electricity cables should be underground. PS. Enjoy the movie.
ReplyDeletewe started the day here with a very loud aggressive thunder storm .. keeping digits crossed this passes and we have sun for the weekend ... love those birds .. see, those annoying poles and wires can still make a good photo op
ReplyDeleteIt is as if the feathered ones like to be wired literally and mentally! Amazing how much socialising "catch up" is done on telegraph wires! It also seems to be a cautious "get to know you" place for different species of birds!
ReplyDeleteI love how those two birds are totally oblivious to what's going on around them. A little love story unfolding through your lens, Grace!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot but how will they know if the electric feeling when cuddling is love or just a power surge?
ReplyDeleteDarryl and Ruth :)
It's funny... we live in a new development and the electrical wires are all buried. It took me a while to realize this - the electrical wires overhead are such a part of our landscape. Wouldn't it be lovely to have them all gone?
