A wider view..

This is the shot I should have taken on our first visit to the new WA Museum Boola Bardip instead of the views I posted HERE. This view clearly shows the blend between the original museum buildings and the new. I've always loved the splendid Jubilee Building above, which opened in 1899. Have a look at the fabulous panoramic shot HERE taken in 2004. I really must start using the camera in my phone to take panoramic views like that, I very rarely use the phone camera, how about you? Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe.. P.s. as long as there aren't any unexpected problems we have a deadline now for the bathroom renovation.. Saturday, fingers crossed :)

  2. I do like the architecture of the original Jubilee building even though the contemporary building is more efficient. The contrast is a bit jarring. Hope your construction project is done on time. (I never use the camera in my phone, but then I don't have a new iPhone 12 that does great night shots.)

  3. Looks very intresting the crossing between old and new. About your question I bought a mobile special for photography but have until now never used it.

  4. You should never use the smartphone så a camera. If you use a 50mm lens here and shoot ten photos to cover the building it would come out really good.

  5. Grand old building. I seldom use the phone camera even though it does HDR. Do a panoramic with a good lens and stitch the images together is GIMP or Darktable, unless you use one of the expensive packages that does the same. I generally use a tripod and a 25mm on my MFT or a 50mm or 35mm when I shoot film. Then there is the trusty view camera that I can do anything with.

  6. Dearest Grace,
That indeed gives a far better impression.
By the way, your present photo is about as good as the panoramic view from 2004!
    Great news for your Saturday!
    Hugs,

  13. I use my I-phone many times lately, becomes a bit lazy to carry a heavy camera with me.....

  14. They have really blended the old and new here. That older building is such a beauty! I use my phone camera quite often and sometimes I'll take the same shot I took with my camera. It really is amazing how good that phone camera is.

  16. I use my phone camera when I am out and about but don't really like it because there is less control (my phone is quite old now) and it is often too bright to see what is on the screen so it is very much point shoot and hope I've got it.
