Blowing in the wind..

You miss a couple of weeks in the city and you never know what you might find! On Murray Street to take pics of the climate change protest on Friday evening I spotted a new mural by The Black Mountains Art aka Robert Jenkins. Those quirky little guys hanging about in all of the artist's work are just so darn cool. Watched this short video of the artist outlining the many leaves above.. slightly mesmerising it was :) Looking forward to getting back into the city this week to see what else has been happening over the last few weeks. Happy Monday, take care and stay safe..

  2. Oh, my goodness, Grace!!! I SO cannot wait to come back! I LOVE the lille fella! And yes, weee, I wish I had such a steady hand, my lines´d be all crooked. Can´t you invent beaming, pretty please? I have something French here I´d bring along, too ;-) xox

  3. The artist has such a steady hand. I don't think I would have gotten those outlines so neat and even.

  5. Very attractive murals. The video reminded me of a school trip to the BSA motorbike factory. My friends and I had often looked at their bikes and marvelled at the very precisely applied white painted lines around the mudguards and wondered what sort of machine could do the work. So we asked about it and were shown to a small building where a man sat with a pot of paint and a small brush. He painted every one by hand and only took a few seconds on each!

  6. That is a great find, Grace! I've always liked the ones we have been shown with the wee guy in them.

  7. With a tip of the hat, homage to Keith Haring. But clearly the little man is a fresh and timely expression as we all feel overmastered by huge forces and try to hang on with authenticity and panache; never surrendering to despair.
