I took mon amie française Marie to the Re Store Leederville on Thursday. The Re Store, family owned since 1936 specializes in gourmet food and liquor from all over the world.. so many delicious goodies. Mon amie searched and found the foie gras and escargot, taking home the former but in tins of 8 dozen, not the latter. When we were in Paris together Marie encouraged me to try many 'different' foods for the first time, snails slippery little suckers were not a success, 8 dozen escargot are 96 too many pour moi 😉 She did however surprise me with a packet of super tasty French lemon shortbread biscuits, much more my cuppa tea :) Happy weekend, take care and stay safe..
Looks tantalizing good.
ReplyDeleteThe escargot are not my kind of food either. The Re-Store has so many great goodies :)
ReplyDeleteThose French lemon shortbread biscuits sound great. I would definitely want to try them with a cuppa tea.
ReplyDeleteWe need a store like that in Michigan. The one thing I won't eat unless for survival is the snails. Mrs. M likes them.
ReplyDeleteMan, Grace, you're so mean!
ReplyDeleteIt's almost half past eight in the evening and I'm hungry ... and I can't eat anything until tomorrow! LOL
I'd prefer those biscuits!
ReplyDeleteAnother one here for the biscuits please!
ReplyDeleteA little mental arithmetic tells me you really don't like escargot. I am so sure I wouldn't that I will never try them.
ReplyDeleteYou have made me hungry now!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a place. I'd go crazy in there. I have a friend who sometimes makes escargot at his dinner parties. I think I like the garlic butter more than the little critters.
ReplyDeleteI wish we had such shops close by. The food looks fabulous. I tried frogs legs once. Too fiddly. My SIL, David, ate snails with us at a restaurant and suddenly his eyes swelled up and became slits in his head. He was allergic. We had to take him to hospital.
ReplyDeleteLOL, I don't think I would like those slippery little suckers either! However, it looks like a wonderful store!
ReplyDeleteIt's an acquired taste indeed. Try finding Portuguese fried pigs ears... Quite sure, Sami can tell you about it :-)
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, snails... I can't even look at them and would never want to eat them!
ReplyDelete...I'm not quite ready for snails!
ReplyDeleteI have eaten snails on a number of occasions and quite like them.
ReplyDeleteGreat shopping with you, now I have to create something to eat!
