It's been a while...

... since we've had a wander around Elizabeth Quay. It was one of those 19C but feels like 14C days. The clouds whipped across the blue sky while the seagulls hunkered down out of the wind.. the perfect kind of day actually :) Above looking out across the quay through the bridge to the Swan River and below the carousel, handcrafted in Venice, you can read how it came to be in Elizabeth Quay here. Thought you might like to see some of the gorgeous details on the central column, you might have to embiggen the shot. It really is a very pretty carousel. Hope you are having a fab weekend, happy Sunday, take care and stay safe..

I love observing these carousels, they are so beautiful, in the Zoo of Lisboa there is one, whenever I go there I throw lots of photos.
    Have a happy weekend

  11. The carousel reminds me of the one in Paris, just over the Seine from the Eiffel Tower. That was also quite ornate. Love the first shot; the colors just sparkle and I could look at that scene for hours. You are lucky to live in such a place as I've reminded you many times! ;)

  12. What a beauty - and what an undertaking. This sort of quality is very magical. Leave it to a jeweler to be committed to getting it right.

  17. I love the sparkling water shown in the first photo, I want to join the seagulls sitting on the boards. Lovely carousel. After sitting with the seagulls for a while, I think I'd like to ride one of those fine carousel horses!
