As we were crossing the
Horseshoe Bridge coming into the city on Friday evening I noticed this dapper gentleman gazing down on the work that's progressing below and couldn't help wondering what he thought about it all. I should have asked him! How had this vista changed since the first time he had stood here, and what did he think of the
Perth City Link which will reconnect
Northbridge to the CBD once again. For train aficionados out there you may find
this short video on the construction of the new underground railway system interesting, I did. You see, I'm not a 'change dinosaur' this is a fantastic project for the city :) Have a good Monday, it's a holiday here in the west, good times! Take care.....
Looks like quite a lot of work going on!
ReplyDeleteThe more railways the better I like it.
ReplyDeleteThe city council should pay you, or at least give you a medal!
ReplyDeleteAloha, MonAmi
I read all about this when you mentioned it before Grace and it looks like a good infrastructure project, unlike certain others! Lovely to see regular people just doing what they do on a Friday night.
ReplyDeleteHe is a dapper gent!!! Change is change...sometimes good...sometimes not so good...glad this looks like a good project for the city!!! I've gotten to the age where I'm seeing what I thought was current and charming start to look a bit haggard and in need of an uplift...just not sure that I like the way they're uplifting things in Glendale though (my home town)!
ReplyDeleteIn 50 years, a dapper gent will be looking at the same sight and tell children how it used to be!
ReplyDeleteI watched the video...impressive stuff. I felt sure you were going to say that you spoke to that nice man :). Have a good week, Grace!
ReplyDeleteWe are so used at things and buildings remaining the same over the years, that any change would be welcome...
ReplyDeleteWe don't like change in general. I for sure am quite resistant to change in my own little world. I try not to be!
ReplyDeleteI work for a company that forces me to be adaptable, so bring it on. I hope you enjoyed your holiday, Grace.
ReplyDeleteA dapper gentleman he is !! What a great capture for the day -- as always!! It's so good to be back on line and able to enjoy your photos/posts!! Hope you have a great week and a great holiday!!
ReplyDeleteI probably would have wondered the same thing.
ReplyDeleteHe really has that pensive look, nice 'portrait' within a street scene! I am myself not the greatest with uncontrollable change, but modern life and my workplace force me to be flexible:) (I like change I can control though, like changing out the old earrings for a newer pair, haha!)
ReplyDeleteHe looks like a man with style!:)
ReplyDeleteHi Grace. This gentleman's "take" on the changes he has seen in this area would be most interesting Grace. Looking forward to your foray into social journalism.
ReplyDeletePeople are always curious to watch what is going on there below. I see that here too, mostly eldery men...
ReplyDeleteIt certainly holds everyone's fascination, doesn't it. Love it when men still wear hats. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteLoved both the captures!!
ReplyDeleteImprovements to public transportation are always a good thing. Those people are very interested in what is going on below them.
ReplyDeleteI think hats make most men look very debonair!
ReplyDeleteV
bridges and shadows .. two of my favorite things
ReplyDeleteI used to hate change...but it's unavoidable.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of hats--for men and women!
I´m so curious to see it again! In 1995 and 1999 we harrdly saw it but in 2006 we were there every single day!
ReplyDelete"Fresh flowers stay inside, due to the heat" - is the flower-shop still there?
Oh yes you are!
ReplyDeleteI like a lot your first composition, beautiful shadows ( and people looks so curious there ) :)
ReplyDeletehugs

Change is inevitable but it's amazing how fast you can get used to the new if you are open to it. ;)
ReplyDeleteThe face of Perth is certainly changing. I gazed out on a similar view when I had lunch at the Art Gallery several weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteAnd as for the "dapper" gentleman - what a long time ago it was since the days when men went to town dressed in a suit!
Have a wonderful week.
Some people don't like these things at all, but they really do keep commerce growing.
