I wish I'd waited and taken this shot an hour later! Where were you.. at ten past two, has a much more poetic ring to it than where were you.. at ten past one :) The
Scarborough Clock Tower was built to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the first European settlement here in WA and the 75th anniversary of Rotary International. It's a little utilitarian for my liking, but it does suit it's location and is an easily spotted rendezvous marker. In the background the top of the
ampitheatre and on the horizon..that's the Indian Ocean, nice!
Click here to see other skies around the world. TGIF for sure! Happy day, take care and stay safe.....
Interesting, Grace, Europeans in WA...
ReplyDeleteIs the man on the second photo a guide who told you, that that's the Indian Ocean? ;-)
P.S. Many thanks for your 400 nice comments on BDP!
It was so nice to hear from you!
ReplyDeleteThank you for identifying the "Bell Tower".
Music was my university major. I will need to spend more time there on my next visit.

ReplyDeleteThat's a different kind of clock tower...
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a giant screw caught up in some unusual giant wrench:) I also love that wavy stair-rail in the second photo. Am enjoying your TGIF skies, it's almost-TGIF here, hurrah!!
ReplyDeleteI would have never guessed it was a clock tower. Very interesting and nice photos!
ReplyDeleteThat clock tower looks like some memorials I have seen. That sky is gorgeous tho.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful clock.
ReplyDeleteit seems to almost resemble a person!
ReplyDeleteIs that a bit of 'yarn bombing' on the stairway? Have a good W/E.
ReplyDeleteI can't resist. Is there a fair in Scarborough? Might you intend going in the future?
ReplyDeleteA lovely memorial and I am mesmerized by the shades of blue in the ocean!
ReplyDeleteBises,
Genie

I go with Sophie - even the handrail is made with thoughtful design, great!
ReplyDeleteLove the handrail spiralling towards the point of interest.
ReplyDeleteNever mind the clock - I'd be happy with the view alone.
ReplyDeleteWonderful blue blue skies! Enjoy the weekend.
ReplyDeleteI know you are showing a clock, the sky and an amphitheatre but all I can see is the colour of the ocean!!
