A few last shots from the Rotary Car Show held in the grounds of Wesley College in South Perth. I'm not sure if all the cars were members of the Veteran Car Club of WA, (if you're a vintage car enthusiast check it out, there are some truly classic beauties) this 1949 Humber definitely was.. in the Humber and Rootes section! This 1939 Vauxhall below really tickled my fancy, do you see the little shade blinds on the front windows, and as the charming gent who owned it explained 'if privacy was required in the back, the shutters could be pulled down' ahem!
Although the Jaguar below (can anyone help with type?), is apparently quite rare, it definitely didn't rock my boat...the pale blue Jag beneath it however made me sigh!
A vintage car show wouldn't be the same without a vintage jazz band..only joking these guys were super cool, and were more than happy for me to take a few shots, I do love the jazz!
Gorgeous little 1932 Austin Seves sitting pretty next to a 1956 Wolseley.....
There were so many amazing and wonderful vehicles gathered here that it would take me several posts to show them all, so instead I've picked my favourites and saved a special one for another time. Thought I'd end (!) off with a few shapely derrieres haha!I hope your week has started well, take care, and stay safe.....
Gut, ich nehme dann das blaue Cabrio, ist ja schon alt...:-)
ReplyDeleteHerbstlichen Gruß und gute Laune

Oh that jazz band, those striped blinds (so thoughtful, haha), the jags, those derrieres, so much good stuff to take in! I think this is my first time (finally) seeing a Wolsely. I'm looking forward to the rest of your 'rainy day' shots one special day!
ReplyDeleteAwesome old cars and great jazz!! Doesn't get any better for some weekend fun!! Love your captures for the day, Grace -- as always! Hope your week is off to a great start! Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I didn't think they could get any better than yesterday's photos. That is one very impressive auto show. Such gorgeous cars, I don't which one I'd choose. But, since my Honda is all I can afford, I guess I don't have that problem to worry about. I do like to look though so thanks for the photos.
ReplyDeleteI love your vintage car photos. Some of these makes and models I have never heard of. Too bad I don't have a few hundred thousand smackers to spend on toys.
ReplyDeleteI'm not greedy but I want all of them!
ReplyDeleteI'll have that red one in the second last photo please Grace. Howzabout you drive it over to Melbourne and I'll coast around the Great Australian Bite back to Perth.
ReplyDeleteWhat a tragedy that cars don't look like this anymore ... I suspect the real purpose of vintage car shows is to make us all jealous as hell!!
