I've been pretty keen to get out to the Zoo and have a peek at the baby meerkats who made their public debut a couple of weeks ago. So yesterday after the camera market we zipped out there to have a peek. Oh soooo cute! I find the meerkats such characters anyway, the way they pose when it's their turn to 'keep watch', but the babies, oh my they are adorable!! I did notice though when I downloaded the pictures that they seem to have a bit of a raw patch around the ear area and wondered if there had been a bit of 'scrapping' going on, or if it was simply where Mum picks them up by the scruff! If I had noticed it at the time I would have asked one of the many Docents who are so very helpful with queries, with all the children that visit the Zoo, there are many, many questions! Hope that you had (are having) a good Sunday, take care..p.s I bought a sweet lens at the markets a DA 40mm F2.8 check it out, got it for a great price too, looking forward to trying it out.....

ReplyDeleteCute is a good word here Grace.
ReplyDeleteThere is a TV series about meercats on one of our nature channels. They are very entertaining. Nice photos of the cute babies.
ReplyDeleteSweet! And it's always nice to add a lens to the line-up. That one looks like it might be a good portrait lens.
ReplyDeleteThese animals are not in Italy...very beautiful view of nature! Arianna

ReplyDeleteMy heart is melting...
ReplyDeleteSuch cuties!
ReplyDeleteI suspect, of course, that they can get up to all sorts of mischief if they put their minds to it....
Of course...but they're so adorable, how could anyone be angry with them?
ReplyDeleteLooks to me the raw patches are from a bit of rough and tumble.
ReplyDeleteThey are cute little animals especially when they stand up on guard. We recently saw some at the Western Plains Zoo.
ReplyDeletethey are adorable. have become quite interested in these creatures since seeing Meerkat Manor a few years back.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE meerkats and these photos are adorable. Such cute little creatures. They really are so much fun to watch. I remember many years ago seeing a Smithsonian Institute film on meerkats where someone actually lived with a pack in Africa until they accepted him in the group. His film of them was so interesting. At the beginning of the film, they said if you have any cats in the house while you are watching this, they my get interested in the TV because meerkats make a sound that cats are attracted to. Sure enough, 15 minutes into the film, the cat had back then made his way into the room and sat in front of the TV, part of the time sitting up on his back legs and watched the show along with me. It was such a treat to see.
ReplyDeleteThey are truly one of the most interesting animals to watch.
ReplyDeleteWhat joy. Never seen before. Thank you for this adventure. Please have a good new week ahead.
