It's officially the first day of Spring here in Australia and although it's my favourite season of the year, new beginnings, newborn lambs, chicks and other baby birds and animals..I can't help feeling a wee bit cheated out of a proper Winter, sure there were a few cold nights and chilly days but on the whole it was a bit of a fizzle...!! Not to worry, move on Grace, Spring has sprung and I can't wait to get up to Kings Park and check out The Spring Festival when it starts, it's a fabulous event with flowers and exotic plants (like the cactus above from South Africa) from all over the world, so expect a fair few 'flowery' posts over the next month.. I'm thinking it might be the start of Autumn on the other side of the world...so happy 'new season' to you.....!! Oh yes, this is my contribution to the 'perspective' theme day, it's not what I was going to post, but hey it's SPRING.....!!

ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty! Love the rich color.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe this weather! Soon be time to swim (some splashing about in Yanchep lagoon already). Great shot of cactus!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Spring too. Such wonderfully vibrant colours on your aloe. This plant always surprises - some bloom in spring, some in summmer, some in Autumn. I've got some in flower here, so snap!

ReplyDeleteForgive me, I still get confused about the other hemisphere: our autumn is not exactly around the corner yet...

ReplyDeleteI agree, not nearly enough storms and rain :(
ReplyDeleteAdore the bubbly tone of this post! A beautiful reflection of a Spring mood! Great, brightly coloured flower on the cactus!

ReplyDeleteI think that cactus is what we call "sábila" here in Guatemala... looks familiar.
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring! Autumn starts here on 21/22 Sept so we are hanging onto the remnants of summer. Your photo is inspirational- those colours!
ReplyDeleteChrissy

ReplyDeleteBeautiful plants! I love these blooms!
ReplyDeletehi pdp, i'm so way behind theme day. haha.
ReplyDeletelove your new profile pic btw, ^0^
while you're anticipating the lovely spring,
the weather here still is comme çi; comme ça, ^0^
Excellent shot and post, Grace. You got me thinking about perspective in another way. A few minutes ago I looked at an "almost autumn" image from Washington state, which surprised me because it still feels like summer here. Fall in Washington, spring in Perth, summer here, very different perspectives on the same earth.
ReplyDeleteFuertes y vivos colores, esta foto esta llena de vida.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jack - still summer here although the days are getting shorter which I hate. Lucky you with spring to look forward to!
ReplyDeleteHappy spring to you! We have a few more weeks of summer and then it will be my favorite season here which is autumn.
ReplyDeleteIn Italy we are going towards Autumn but in my city it's still very warm. I live near the sea and this morning I took a sea bathing.
ReplyDeleteYour very nice shot could be the symbol of Your Spring
Ciao.
Hurrah for Spring! Although it means that summer is officially over where I live!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful perspective to look at the world, from down under, where's spring and from here, where autumn is about to begin.
ReplyDeletePlease have a good new month.
Glorious shot, both the perspective and the colours. All grey and overcast down here for the start of spring.
ReplyDeleteRed Hot pokers look crap most of the year (in my opinion) but just wait 'til they flower! Great shot - it'd make a doozy for SkyWatch as well!!
ReplyDeleteI love orange flowers Grace so this pushes my buttons. Isn't it aloe vera?
ReplyDeleteThis is what I call eye candy. Gorgeous colors! I love that I'll get to enjoy spring from your photos when we're getting ready for fall here :D
ReplyDeleteAnd how! Look at those colours. You and Z from Z captures should hook up and make explosive colours together:-) Yes, Autumn here, it's as if summer never happened. Thanks for the reminder, Grace:-)
ReplyDeleteWow, this is pretty, and I am sure you have much to look forward too in the weeks to come..... AUTUMN where I am.
