I often show you all the beautiful heritage buildings in Fremantle but we do have our fair share here in Perth also. Whereas Fremantle is known more as a historic city, high-rise and skyscrapers are always present lurking in the background in Perth City. The architecture here is just a small selection from the Historic Heart of Perth. Beginning at the top end of Murray Street with the rather magnificent St Mary's Cathedral (excellent aerial shot on link) and working our way down to the centre of the city. I challenged myself to learn Photoshop during the lockdown and am attempting to blog one “isolation creation” each Sunday. The Dreamscape with the seagulls reflected in the glassy sea was one of these. Cheers Joe.

Wow, this is a whole different view of Perth for me. I'm used to seeing all those shiny sky scrapers on your skyline so it's nice to see these lovely old buildings too.

The St. Mary's Cathedral is a true gem and for Australian standards rather old, being completed in 1865. For us, coming from the Old World, that of course is very young but still beautiful.

Some gorgeous buildings and architecture, I'm glad they have been saved from demolition.

When I was in WA my cousin took me on a whirlwind tour of Perth but I really don't remember much as we were on the way to the airport for my next flight. Perhaps I'll be there again one day, but sadly not this year! I remember being in Fremantle, going to a museum, seeing an old ship, having tea in the museum garden, going to a hardware store and buying a automotive gear knob with a scorpion inside!
