Just an hour after the theme day shots two days ago the city skyline looked like this. Above taken from the ferry point south of the river, this is where city workers catch the ferry over to the CBD. I was amazed to see that the newly opened Elizabeth Quay did not, as I had feared, dominate, in fact it is absorbed into the scene quite well..
Below to the right of the shot the Bell Tower with Council House behind add a familiar touch of colour, while to the left the new sculpture Spanda and the bridge, if you look at the links you can see why I thought they might dominate, look quite at home. I seem to remember something about eating my hat :) Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe...
Great night shots, Grace, the 1st is my preferred.

ReplyDeleteOne of the great things about digital photography is how it handles colors at night - as you have proven so well in these beautiful photos of your beautiful city!

ReplyDeletePretty city! Don't get indigestion.......
ReplyDeleteI sided with you over the redevelopment, mainly because you are always right. However, having now seen it, I liked it and the area was obviously popular, but I will reserve my judgement until the tall buildings are constructed.
ReplyDeleteHi Grace
ReplyDeleteGood to see that Elizabeth Quay does not dominate the skyline. Thanks for popping in to Melbourne Snaps. We had a grand celebration on the weekend with the marriage of our daughter. It was perfect. Cheers Joe.
Have a salad instead of your hat, and then perhaps a glass of champagne for such excellent photos.
ReplyDeleteHow pretty with the twinkling lights.
ReplyDeleteYou make some wonderful night photos. I tried it yesterday, but the results are rather poor. I don't have the patience to figure out all the diffferent oppertunities of the camera....
