A small section of the apartments that line Mill Point Road in South Perth. The views from these apartments, some luxury, some made less ordinary by their location, across the foreshore and Swan River to the city, are spectacular. Perfect spot to watch the annual fireworks each 26th January! Only a stone's throw away from the Perth Zoo I wonder if the residents can hear the lions roar on a summers evening while sipping their drinks on the balcony :) The three feathers sculpture below on the foreshore titled 'Resonance' by WA artist Amanda Shelsher 'reflect the memories of many generations of people that once stood
here and a reminder of the abundant wildlife that was once in this area'. I'm happy to say that in the few hours we were there we saw many, many birds. Happy Thursday, take care and stay safe...
It looks like a pleasant area for a stroll!
ReplyDeletePlease let me know if one of those apartments comes up for sale! Such a beautiful area and skyline and river and waterfront and I love those feathery sculptures!
ReplyDelete"Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore."
ReplyDeleteLocation, location, location!
ReplyDeleteLove that sculpture, Grace!
Oh I love that sculpture - so pretty and the meaning behind it is lovely too. Love those views looking out across the river too. Beautiful! - Tasha
ReplyDeletei love those feathers and neat idea to think of the folks sitting out on their porches listening to the lions!
ReplyDeleteThese luxury apartments seem to overlook a giant soccer pitch. Interesting sculpture. That is a great city skyline, but I like your night shot from yesterday better.
ReplyDeleteHi Grace! Those folks certainly do have a great view. Nice photos!
ReplyDeleteVERY like our apartment near the Waikiki Zoo! And yes, one CAN hear the animals in quiet hours :)
ReplyDeleteNice location! I like the sculptures too, very thoughtful and creative.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a great place to live and enjoy the views, the fireworks, the art and wildlife. I'm betting there is even a couple of nice restaurants near by which would make it perfect.
ReplyDeleteThose trees in that first photo make that skyline.
ReplyDeleteThose trees in that first photo make that skyline.
ReplyDeleteGood-looking apartment building! I very much like the feather sculptures.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of some of the coastal cities in the USA. The water looks really inviting. This is day 46 of over 32-33C temperature.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't seen the feather sculptures yet, but I haven't been to South Perth for a while.
ReplyDeleteLove that area, wish I could afford one of those apartments....
There's always hope that I win Lotto and then I would buy one for sure Grace!!
lucky people living there.

ReplyDeleteA strange (spam) comment here above :). The first photo reminds me a bit of new buildings in Amsterdam along the river IJ border in the north part. Only without palmtrees of course.
ReplyDeleteAnd this is winter Down Under? I could get used to it!
ReplyDeleteTo hear the lions roar, just imagine that - wonderful idea, Grace!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post and Awesome pics.
ReplyDeleteI'd be very happy to have a walk along there ...
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
