'Will you walk into my parlour said the spider to the fly'..

So I say to the kids coming out onto the lookout below: 'Hey kids, check this out'..
The young girl shudders .. 'Ewwww'
Her younger brother leaning forward eagerly for a closer look.. 'Coooool'

Not a really super clear photo because even though using my long lens the arachnophobia kicked in causing a slight hand tremour :) Yup along with the claustrophobia, the acrophobia, not to mention aquaphobia, only if the water is deep :) and the fear of bike helmets (so rare they don't have a name for it yet) spiders freak the heck out of me! The Golden Orb spider here looks like her pantry is well stocked for winter! You can read all about her here on a list of WA spiders.. thought you should know.. are you still coming :) Happy Thursday, take care and stay safe.. P.s. do you have any phobias?

  1. The itsy bitsy spider went up the water spout...

I wonder what the spider thinks of the camera.

  3. You did really well, it's a lovely shot, I prefer it in colour.
I don't mind spiders. As long as they aren't huge and hairy...

  5. I am not afraid of spiders but don't want them close by. Last week one big black one was walking in our room, eeeeh! My only fear is the same as yours, deep water....

  6. Your fears are my fears - bar the fear of bike helmets. I fear spiders, but love photographing their webs. Great macro of spider and web and love the swans.

  9. I'd have to say that all creepy, crawly insects tend to freak me out.
The little story of the girl and boy made me laugh. That reaction kind of sums up the situation going on here in the states when it comes to our current political choices. Half the nation is say Ewwww and the other half is saying Cool. :-)

  10. I have only seen small spiders, and I guess big spiders would have scared me....
    Very nice macro images.

  11. Reminds me of the shelters I stayed in during summer camps. :-)

  12. I have a bit of a phobia about snakes, perhaps more that I don't like them and I am scared of them. Your fear of bicycle helmets may well be a subconscious matter to stop you getting on one.

  13. Way cool! No, can't say I have any real phobias, but there are sure somethings I had rather not deal with. I can't stand the camelback crickets, but a normal cricket I love. I hate to/cannot stand to cook a turkey or smell one cooking...I almost get sick just thinking about it. That is not the same thing as a fear/phobia, but oh, I shudder to think of cooking one.

  16. I used to get really wound up worrying about the spiders before we would set off for Australia visits. Did see a few. You are so brave even to prepare these images to post!!!

  21. I could only have a quick glance, Grace, ewwww ;-)
If I´d ever read a list of (West) Australian spiders Ingo´d had no chance in the first place getting me over!
All insects gross me out, anything with more than four extremities!
Though I have to admit, quick-glance beauty.
    Love the second pic :-)
