Would you do it..?

Would you leap onto a kite board totally relying on the wind to skim you across the water out of reach of whatever may be lurking underneath the waves? Or jump in a kayak and paddle out to sea not knowing what could nudge you from below? I'm darn tootin' sure I wouldn't :) Behind the wind surfer above I counted eleven container ships waiting in Gage Roads to come into Fremantle Harbour.. the land mass behind is Rottnest Island....

I took the above and below shots using my 300 zoom, pulling it in to catch this sweet scenario on the beach below. It would seem not all dogs love the beach.. to be fair it was pretty cool (28C) and windy on Sunday! This dear little dog.. look at the size of it :) was not happy.. luckily her 'dad' was keeping an eye on her, he scooped her up in one hand and carried her the rest of the way, too cute! Hope your week has started well, I'm hoping for a quiet 'catch up' day today, take care.....

  3. When I was (much) younger, I practised kayak on the sea.But on the MEDITERRANEAN sea, you know , flat one , and with no sharks. I would never do the same in Australia!
I like the picture of this big guy rescuing this very small dog, what a cute way to act!

  5. Not a chance, would I ever do that. I've been watching the snowboarders at the Olympics and thinking that looks like fun and were I younger, maybe. But probably not. I like to play it safe.

  6. Kite boarding never! Ocean kayaking, I've done in my youth when I didn't think things through so well:) (Some thrilling things did go by though, like big eels - I was told some were possibly electric eels) That doggie is too precious, I loved these warming shots, Grace!

  9. I haven't been on the ocean like that, but I've used canoes and kayaks, and that's fun. Not sure about shark infested waters though...

  11. The question you ask is ever so easy for me to answer, not in a million years!! I have a hard enough time just walking in the surf. However, I will sit on the beach watch other dare devils swim, surf, paddle-board, kayak and float out there in the briny depths.

  15. A ship like that was sitting in our bay for about five days. I assumed it was a dredge, but I am probably wrong.

  16. Even though I grew up on the beach, there is no way I would do any of those things, not even in my younger days! Cute little dog. I'm so glad she got picked up and carried the rest of the way.

  18. There was a time I'd make that jump. These days, I'd just break a hip or something equally embarrassing!

  19. Goodness Grace. That para surfer looks like he's being towed by the tanker. I'll stay on the shore thanks.

  20. Certainly not ! I love water and swimming, but like an old grandma with my head out of the water I hate water in my face, lol !

  21. I've done some wind surfing in the past, but I think the window has closed on kite boarding. That is a nice doggy scenario !

  24. I always think it's funny when people "walk" the dogs (i.e. carry them). He is a little cutie though!

  28. Some people have a lot of guts.

I watched a TV programme the other day about a couple moving to Australia and they were featuring Perth. I sure did enjoy watching it...keeping my eye out for you and your camera :).
