There's always one!

How many times when you download your pics do you find someone staring straight at you 😲 I think scooter guy was covered up enough here to use the shot. The Old Telephone Exchange on Murray street has not changed one bit, check it out c1920's here, those old cars parked out front are too fabulous! Converted now to the Murray St branch of Fujitsu. Perth is a bit like a building site at the moment, everywhere you look there are cranes and construction, wondering if there will ever be a time when it's finished but guessing not.. that's progress! Thoughts go out to all in the path of Hurricane Florence, take care and stay safe..

  1. Beautiful architecture for that building!

I had it with my post today- one of the bagpipers, a woman, is looking right at me. Didn't see it when I took the shot.

  2. As they say, Perth will be a lovely city, once they get it finished. They say that about Toronto too! Here there are 2 seasons.... Winter and Construction.
I hope ScooterGuy reads your blog and sees himself. Fame at Last!

  6. You have some pretty buildings too in Perth, I like this one! The dude is watching you, what does that woman do with a camera, suspicious!!! Glad you didn't sit on the face, a bit akward feeling I think :)))

  7. Wonderful shot! While I too try not to be rude with my camera, I do take quick shots with folks in them in the comfort that anything seen in public is legal for us to photograph. In fact I have tricks [like being zoomed before pointing the lens] to avoid being obvious. I did try asking for permission, but the great shot I see disappears as the person stops what they are doing and looks at the camera. Interesting post today! If I want to shoot something from the st, like a house, I will be obvious about smiling and looking appreciative so any viewer won't think I'm on a legal mission or up to no good.

  10. Yes, it happens often enough that someone you don't notice notices you.

  12. How fun to see those old cars out in front.
My daughter's Mother in law....was very stubborn about evacuating Wilmington. NC. She lives in a one story house...very close to the coast and on a canal. They finally talked some sense into her and she did got out of there last night!

  20. OMG Grace! The Diver lie still on the ground and Horse Shoe Bridge was PACKED.
I managed to get a pic and later saw... A boy STARED into the cam!
You just made me laugh again :-)
Well. Your cranes create new. Here we have still the same old construction sites where they´re doing slow, endless repair work...

  21. That was not a cheap facade for the twenties. And a guy looking in the camera, some people have just a sixth sense for that but the build activities are everywhere. I fear a bit for the environment.

  22. I agree with you Grace, there are cranes and construction going on everywhere in Perth!

  24. Love seeing old and new photos of buildings, not much changes with brick buildings I guess!

  25. I love the look of the brick building next to the modern skyscrapers.

  26. While sandstone buildings are grand I really like what they did with brick in days gone by. These days brick is pretty boring.
