Always on the lookout for a different view of the city two surprises for me on our walk yesterday. Firstly I wasn't expecting to see the city framed between the paperbark trees from here and secondly.. Popeye Lake! Couldn't find out why it's called Popeye Lake so I'm guessing it may have something to do with the aerial view, as here in the aerial view of Popeye Lake in Ontario. Let us not question why and just enjoy the view :) Happy Friday, take care and stay safe..
Popeye lake, I hadn't heard of it yet Grace, and I like the quirky name.
ReplyDeleteYou always find lovely places in your corner of Perth!
It feels like the city is quite far away. Beautiful shots!
ReplyDeleteI'll assume the lake name predates the barely comprehensible spinach laced with steroids eating sailor.
So pretty! I love the "edge" realms.....
ReplyDelete...oh darn, I was hoping to see Popeye and Olive Oil.
ReplyDeleteSuch natural beauty so close to the city!
ReplyDeleteLovely views across the countryside. Guess you are already in Friday, we still have it to arrive so I will say happy Saturday to you now 😉 Take care Diane
ReplyDeleteI'm all for enjoying the view! I looked at the aerial view and I do see the resemblance. Maybe the same holds true for this one. But, for now, I'm just enjoying the view.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a lovely area, Grace! I had never heard of Popeye Lake here in Ontario but it is quite far away from Toronto and north of Lake Superior.
ReplyDeleteA nice view to be sure!
ReplyDeleteNamed after the Cartoon Popeye
ReplyDeleteNorth of the city, not far and isn't it very flat in between. All those reeds I guess harbour a large number of birds.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely view and composition. Nice shots Grace!
ReplyDeleteI Appreciate These Photos But The Spring Festival Perth Photos Were Amazing - Well Done
ReplyDeleteCheers
This looks like a great place to walk and the grasses are coming back to life again. Don't you just love spring?
ReplyDeletePopeye I wonder if popeye sailor was name after the lake.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on
Such pretty blues.
ReplyDeleteOh, Grace, I instantly craved spinach! :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful view, but, really! Bet if/when Ingo reads along he grabs a pipe!
Awesome landscape capture . Keep clicking . Keep commenting on my blog because I love your comments.
ReplyDeleteA great view to start the weekend Grace. Have a good one.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful there is nature in the vicinity of such a big city!
ReplyDeleteGreat view.
ReplyDeleteA pretty view and a funny name for a lake, I can see the "Sailorman" passing by!
ReplyDeleteUma visão bonita em tons azuis.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e bom fim-de-semana.

I envy your change of seasons right now since our autumn is fast approaching. Love these photos because they are so similar to some of our marshes and lakes in natural settings.
ReplyDeleteI like the name of that lake! Such pretty blue color there.
ReplyDeleteMaybe if you looked around you would have found some spinach. I like it when an unexpected view of the city pops up. It sometimes happens on a clear day in the mountains - we can see down to Sydney.
ReplyDeleteJoan Elizabeth stole my idea!!! I figure there must be spinach fields around the lake!!! Or maybe an Olive Oil bottling company??? I love finding natural framing like your first shot!
ReplyDeleteAn amazing place to enjoy! I hope your week is going well!
