Above the heritage listed Lawson Apartments reflected in the windows of the Atlas Building shown here and here. On the opposite corner of the Esplanade and Sherwood Court the Lawson apartments were built in 1937 and refurbished in 1986. I would give my eyeteeth to see inside one of these apartments.. the front apartments would have a fabulous view over to the Swan River.. for now anyway, until the planned high-rise starts going up around Elizabeth Quay.. keeping an open mind but I know I'll hate it :) Happy weekend, take care and stay safe... P.s. last shot the Lawson apartments sitting side by side with the Atlas Building..
de weerspiegeling toont ook gelijk een geweldig tijdsoverkoepeling
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see the inside of those apartments too! I wonder if the art deco theme was carried out in the individual apartments. That could be quite nice.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see that this vintage beauty wasn't torn down to make way for a typical modern building. I agree about seeing the interior of it. Great photos!
ReplyDelete...double nice!
ReplyDeleteGiving your "eye-teeth" might be a little extreme, but perhaps, if there are any apartments for sale/rent you could pretend you were interested and if necessary, pad your financial statement, to get in. Then you could take photos and I could see what luxury apartments in Perth looked like when I was born! :) Are your comments coming through now every day? And I didn't hear from you about the "action" so I'm assuming you are not using Photoshop, right? Hope you have a superb weekend. I really appreciate your beautiful photos of your beautiful city!
ReplyDeleteI don't like the views being blocked by high rises either, PDP. Such a shame.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Sharon's comment. I would love to see the inside of these apartments!
ReplyDeleteDid quick google on these apt and to see what rent is. I found a one bed and singel bath ran about $420 a month. Not sure what that includes but the inside of the one I seen look fairly nice.
ReplyDeleteCoffee si on
Nice photos Grace. It would be nice to be able to see inside. One day they might be on show at "Open house Perth". It will be a pity for the owners when their views get blocked by the high risers being constructed.
ReplyDeleteAwesome clicks.
ReplyDeleteI love your first photo with the reflection.
ReplyDeleteLovely detail.
ReplyDeleteAnd a new phrase learned, Grace, give an eyeteeth :-)
ReplyDeleteI´d give one, too, to see how it looks like inside and how the view is (for now).
A very nice reflection Grace!
ReplyDeleteYour city is just beautiful, and a double dose of art deco is just perfect for the eyes!
ReplyDeleteSolid looking edifice! What a great town
ReplyDeleteThat's a great reflection ...
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
The top photo has a dizzying angle! The last photo interests me because of the variety of architectural sizes and styles.
ReplyDeleteThe tan building is quite handsome but is it art deco? Looks like a bit of English castle fantasy to me.
ReplyDeleteQuite a reflection!
ReplyDeletePerth is really a beautiful city!
