That sounds a little dramatic :) but you know how it is, however gentle your dentist is, having an extraction is still a slightly traumatic affair! In need of an equilibrium soothing sight we drove to Point Walter Reserve cafe to have coffee, sipped through a straw, and sit beside the Swan River for a while.. Even though it was a hot day you can see the water was choppy, sending wind surfers flying by so speedily that I missed them :). Looks like someone left their goggles behind!

Pop up paradise.....!
Imagine this.. the sun going down on a warm balmy evening in Perth.. picket fencing, palm trees, astro turf and just for fun pink flamingo's! One of the whimsical 450 events happening in Perth during Fringe World.. a month of 'Rooftop Movies' under the stars. Held on the rooftop of the Roe St. carpark in Northbridge it could easily be described as a surreal experience. The projection 'room' above is a vintage caravan as are the food and beverage vans behind.. vintage movie chairs and yes, plastic shopping baskets for light 'shades' complete the look, tres chic :)
The film begins when the sun goes down, and to be honest it doesn't really matter what movie is playing.. lounging there under the stars with the city skyscrapers just a stone's throw away IS 'the experience'.. Being high up the cool breezes are a welcome relief on a 35C humid day, some people were snuggled in blankets.. it wasn't that cool :) and to think that for most of the year this disappears and all that is left is a carpark rooftop, crazy oui! Happy Thursday, take care and stay safe.....

Birthday lunch at Rockpool.....!
For my birthday in October last year Dave and Courtney gave me a gift voucher for Neil Perry's restaurant Rockpool.. most would say the best in a growing group of exclusive eateries at Crown. Neil Perry AM is one of Australia's best known and respected chefs, check out some of his dishes here. It was Aimee's birthday yesterday so we decided it was about time to break out the gift voucher and celebrate in style :) The entrance to Rockpool above in the grand foyer of Crown Perth., and below the open kitchen where you can watch the chefs prepare your meal.....
The food was excellent and although Dave had warned us that the sides (scroll down) were ample we still ordered way more than we should have....
Already more than happy with the service I was seriously impressed that after spotting us giving Aimee her birthday present earlier, after the meal and before desert they presented her with a super chocolaty cup cake plus candle to blow out :) That was nice! Altogether an enjoyable experience that will be repeated.. my little girl may be a year older but she still loves a chocolaty cupcake! We were out at more Fringe festivities last night, catch up today! Happy middle of the week, take care.....

His name is Ho Ssy....!
You just never know who you might be lucky enough to come across in Perth right now.. seen in the city on Australia Day this is Japanese musician Ho Ssy, check his music out here. Ho Ssy travels the world playing experimental percussion and recording with Chill Om Records., you might have seen him in your city! We are very lucky to enjoy his unique style before he moves onto his next gig. Hope your week has started well, take care and stay safe....

Twisted Vaudeville Circus III et fini.....!
So happy with this shot! The Twisted Vaudeville Circus show closed with a tantalizing performance by actress, model, choreographer and dancer the gorgeous Miss Kelly Ann Doll .. watch her perform here.. once again proving that dynamite does indeed come in small packages :) if you click the link you'll see what I mean.. fantastique!
Evil Hate Monkey.. New York's 'sexiest simian' had the audience shouting for more from the moment he pirouetted onto the stage clutching a banana! What astounded me was that he did most of his act up on pointe shoes.. watching my two nieces, both brilliant dancers and choreographers, over the years I know that it's not as easy as dancers make it look! You can see where things are going below.. and if you guessed EHM's last word looking down was BANANA, you win the prize :) Below pics courtesy of Aimee....
Many thanks to Kelly for inviting us and to the incredibly talented performers for entertaining us, they were a riot! They are performing at the Empyrean on Lake St. in Northbridge throughout Fringe.. what do you think, if you were here would you check it out? Well my weekend is overs, and my week starts early this morning with a tooth extraction in preparation for an implant.. fun times :) Happy Monday, take care and stay safe.....

Twisted Vaudeville Circus II .....
When was the last time you were able to do this :) Seriously how is it possible to be so 'bendy'! The gorgeous contortionists the Rybka Twins, check them out here on Australia's Got Talent, were beyond amazing and by far the easiest to photograph because of the few seconds hold between moves.. we were lucky enough to have prime position front and centre row seats at the Twisted Vaudeville Circus on Thursday evening... the contortions in the last two collages captured by Aimee....
A few 'frock' changes for the fabulous Panache below, the host/ess with that little bit extra :). If you feel like a laugh come back tomorrow for a 'risqué' start to the week, oh la! Hope that you're having a fab weekend, take care.....

Enter into 'De Parel Van Vuren'.....!
Translated 'The Pearl of Fire'.. Perth's very own 'spiegel tent' bought in 2011 by Artrage WA producers of the Fringe World Festival happening right now and for the next four weeks in Perth. Aimee and I were lucky enough to be invited to the opening night of Twisted Vaudeville Circus who are WA's very own premier circus cabaret show.. not in the spiegel tent (we will get there before the festival is over) but in one of the small threatre venues in Northbridge. It was so much fun, not the easiest situation for photos but I think you'll get the idea.. The host for the evening was the faaaabulous 'Panache' who would have put any quick change artist to shame, j'adore Panache!
Aerial Twist..'the superfreak'!
Direct from London deviant diva Bernadette Byrne and half moustachioed musician Victor Victoria together known as 'East End Cabaret'. A true diva entrance astride the backs of two burly young men plucked :) from the audience.....
'Mistress of Tease' Bella de Jac, Miss Burlesque Queensland.. you were divine daaarling !
The Vintage Reds getting physical.....
Last one for today made us laugh so much and prompted Aimee to update her Facebook status to 'When my mum asked me to go out to a fringe show tonight I really didn't expect to see so many testicles'.. I wasn't quite sure how to present the photo below to a wider audience.. somehow pink seemed most appropriate, I'm still laughing at the memory :) Hope that you've got a super weekend planned.. I'd like to stay in bed all weekend, but that's not going to happen. Take care.... Click here to see other 'Entries' from around the world.....
