'Without leaps of imagination, or dreaming,
we lose the excitement of possibilities.
Dreaming after all,
is a form of planning' .. Gloria Steinem.
The four young men above on a school excursion to Kings Park, stood for a long while in silence looking out over the city and Swan River. I couldn't help wondering what they might be thinking about. End of term, exam results, Christmas holidays? I did notice the lad on the end left had a piece of paper stuck to the back of his shirt.. there's nothing that spoils an epiphany moment quite like a 'kick me' sign pinned on the back 😉 Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe..
#1: "I wonder how they get the caramel in the Caramilk bar."
ReplyDelete#2: "How far can I throw a rock?"
#3: "Why do I feel like I'm being watched?"
#4: "where's some weed when you need it, man?"
That is a marvelous and uplifting shot, dear G!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful photo with the people in the foreground. The Swan River looks terrific here.
ReplyDeleteGreat candid scene.
ReplyDeleteThey're probably thinking, thank goodness we are not in that traffic mess down there. :)
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous pic and the guys make even more special, Grace!
ReplyDeleteNice sentiments with the nice photo. But I will spoil it with, they are future property developers and sizing up the city for what can be demolished and a profit making new building can go up.
ReplyDeletePerhaps a kick in the pants is the epiphany he needs.
ReplyDeleteCities with a waterfront really have the advantage in any beauty pageant. Gorgeous view and lovely spot.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to think they are contemplating their futures but, I bet it's something much more basic. They certainly can't be thinking of a better view.
ReplyDeleteAlso a very lovely bend in the road left.
ReplyDeleteWe will never know what they were looking at.
ReplyDeleteAwesome pic
ReplyDeleteHaha, LOL, Grace! You have a talent to destroy a moment! I so have to laugh!
ReplyDeleteInstantly, too, I have the pic in front of my eye where Skinner put such a paper on Bart´s back, saying "teach me!".
You made my day.
What a great little write-up about the photo. They seem to be on the cusp of adulthood. Perhaps they are pondering the transition and wondering what the city wlll become for them.

That's a great picture, those young lads looking out over the city and contemplating their future.... or wondering where to have lunch.
ReplyDeleteIt is a very wonderful shot!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was watching this one, I became wanting to listen to Four Freshmen (the Jazz Vocal Group). ;)
I love the photos of people in magnificent settings!
ReplyDeleteDreams no matter what size, shape or style are worthy of having! Lovely view!
