Ooops! Wrong timing on the terrace.. happy Mother's Day!

I took one shot that was it.. not realizing until a bit later that it was at the exact moment this gent looked up from his breakfast, oh la! look at that expression :) sorry mate! Early yesterday morning in the city, reflections of the Old Perth Boys School built in 1854, in the warm and welcoming windows of the Dome Westralia Plaza on St Georges Terrace.  Below the OPBS sitting in the shade of surrounding skyscrapers, next door to the Linton and Kay Galleries, housed in the Old Perth Technical School building. Have I mentioned before how much I love St. Georges Terrace :)

Maybe I should have stuck with the first reflection I snapped at the top of the terrace. J'adore the sculpture below that sits in front of the QV.1 building, by the late Charles Perry called 'Enigma'.. it is voluptuously curvy and brilliant to snap from every angle. I'm off to bed early tonight, up at the crack of dawn tomorrow to walk a marathon, what happened to breakfast in bed for Mother's Day :) Here's wishing mums everywhere a happy day, take care and stay safe... p.s. catch up today..

  6. I love the sculpture too, Grace. That 2nd pic looks like a scene you could find here - so many similarities our 2 cities have - it must be because of the age of each. Have a great race tomorrow! And Happy Mother's Day!

  8. The sculpture is brilliant and it could have only worked so well in the chosen colour.

  12. Ah, I don't think he saw you. He's looking over your right shoulder. The third picture, though, is a knockout.

  15. Ah, looks like many cities where the high-rises over shadow the original buildings. Tom The Backroads Traveller

  16. That fellow eating his breakfast must have sensed a beautiful lady staring at him through the lens of her camera.

Great photos Grace. I especially like the contrasts between the small old buildings and the empowering (but kind of boing looking) new monster buildings surrounding them.

    Happy Mother's Day Grace!
