Showers for the last few days in Perth makes for some broody atmospheric images up in
Kings Park. Looking down past and through the 'Flame of Remembrance and Pool of Reflection' towards the
State War Memorial and out over the
Swan River (interesting link) Although the photo ops in Kings Park are brilliant in any weather I'm a wee bit partial to winter wet shots :) What do you think.. B&W or colour? Hope the skies are super blue for Fourth of July celebrations.. bon weekend, take care and stay safe...

Looks as though you have some of our gray and grumpy clouds!! Beautiful captures and reflections as always, Grace! Hope you're enjoying a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the 4th of July well wishes Grace!!! Enjoy your rain!!!
ReplyDeleteI like the colour, Grace! It is sunny and 22˚C here - a bit cool for this time of year but nice.
ReplyDeleteWorks for me both ways, although the B&W is most striking.
ReplyDeleteNo matter the weather, Kings Park does it for me! In this instance Grace I'll take the colour!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
Considering that there is little colour there anywhere, I vote for the black and white, absolutely love it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful the first image!! Arianna
ReplyDeleteI agree with Ciel, when it's mostly grey anyway, I go with the B&W.
ReplyDeleteWhat an incredible image, Grace!
ReplyDeleteVery good! B&W win.
ReplyDeleteI like black and white photos, but they often make the scene look older.
ReplyDeleteVery Dramatic. Glad to hear you are having the same kind of WX in Perth that we are having in Florida. Rain Rain and more Rain.
ReplyDeleteI'm usually in the color camp but, this time that black & white with the touch of color is simply superb. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteGlad you getting some rain. We actually had our very first monsoon storm last night and it was the first rain fall since mid-March. Yippee!
I think black and white lends something 'extra' to that particular shot Grace - perhaps it's an eeriness which of course, given the subject, is rather appropriate. I like the colour pic too - foot in both camps, xoJoy
ReplyDeleteIn this case, I think the black and white is most suitable.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. This might be a case where I like the B&W with the flame reflection in color. You clever girl!
ReplyDeleteDid you mean for the reflection of the flame to be orange, but the real flame not? What if both the flame and its reflection were in colour?
ReplyDeleteClever processsing. Winter lends itself to black and white but I am always in favour of colour.
ReplyDeleteAnd the picture has a great composition too!
ReplyDeleteI think the b&w with a splash of fire looks very effective!
ReplyDeleteThe first one looks very special!
ReplyDeleteIntriguing image, Grace!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the colored version.
Love the black and white version with the orange fire!
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me. Thanks to Hurricane Arthur we'll be roasting our dogs over an open grill. We could used this 'light'. Is that a bad thing? Sorry.
ReplyDeleteThe flame is gorgeous against the wet! How smart of you to keep the colour of the flame's reflection while turning everything else into B&W!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the way you edited this keeping the colour of the flame in... inspired
ReplyDeleteMollyxxx
I like them both, but the black and white is my favorite. I also really like the still colored reflection of the flame.
