It's all blue.....!

Unable to drive too far with my 'dodgy' back problem, how lucky am I that just five minutes (three if the lights are green, or a fifteen minute brisk walk) away I have all the delights of Sorrento Quay. Back in the 1930's the suburb of Sorrento being popular with fishermen was largely made up of boat sheds and  fisherman's shacks, things have changed a lot since then, development stepping up in the 1950's nowadays Sorrento is quite the 'prestigious address', not mine unfortunately.. no seriously I'm happy being one suburb back from the beach, close but without the risk of danger from future global warming issues or Tsunami's :) Above one of the Rottnest Fast Ferries coming in to dock, I am definitely doing a 'whale watching' trip this year. The vessel below had me puzzled, a 'caraboat'? Marina's are the best for watery reflections, I took all of these shots yesterday, it was a sunny 33C, come on put Perth on your 'bucket list' for next year, you know you want to! Have a good Thursday, take care.....

  2. I could stare at those reflections all day - dreamy blues indeed! I hope you're taking good care and feeling some progress with your back. (Had to chuckle at your living one suburb back from the coast...after our recent bizarre hurricanes, I'm totally with you!:)

  5. Mr LOL says 'ice for 10 minutes ever 2 hours'. You're a darling for getting such wonderful photos up when you are less than100%. Beautiful reflections. Great PR for Perth.

  10. Feel better Grace - a bad back is not great. The blues are amazing... almost like you used a filter! Perth has been on my list for years but I don't want to come because if I do (and see that blue for myself) I won't want to leave...

  14. The reflections in these shots are just gorgeous. I love the thought that you can actually walk to the shore. That sounds perfect, a good walk away but still safe from natures little catastrophes.

  17. There are places around the world where many people live on barges or houseboats. Seattle, Amsterdam and Bangkok come to mind. Why not Perth? You have all that good weather and sunshine.

  21. Wow! A very prestigious harbour Grace. A whale watching trip! How exciting. Will you take your camera? Hope so. We went on a whale watching trip in Byron Bay last year and I wished I had looked up some tips on photographing them before I left e.g. the auto focus on the camera often focused on the waves or the sunlight reflecting from the waves rather than the whale. It can be bit tricky but I am sure there are some web sites which offer good tips for this sort of photography.

  25. This looks like a pretty harbour. The boat on the second photo look like a houseboat, quite familiar here too.
