We drove to Fremantle Harbour yesterday for three reasons, one to get out of the house for a while, two so I could snap a pic of a mural I had seen previously but hadn't had time to stop.. plenty of time now :) and three to see if the Artania, the ship that refuses to leave was still in the harbour.. yup, still there! Click the link to get an idea of why our Premier, who is doing a brilliant job of trying to keep WA safe from the virus describes the situation as 'one of the greatest frustrations of my life'. The harbour was so quiet, Fremantle city like a ghost town, surreal! Personally the thought of being stuck out on the high seas with thousands of people on a cruise ship totally freaks me out, but hey, whatever rocks your boat :) Happy Thursday, take care and stay safe..
...I have never been a fan of cruise ships and at this point you would never get me on one!
ReplyDeleteIt was wonderful to see the pics of your blue sky and the blue water, Grace! I wouldn't have been on a cruise ship at the best of times and definitely not now. Stay safe dear!
ReplyDeleteOh Grace, so sorry, I only checked my mail with te comments and not the moderation page! Found all your faithfull comments of the last weeks....... Feel so sad about this! Hope you will forgive a silly elderly stupid woman. Have the most of them put on my blogposts now
ReplyDeleteI never liked those oversized, over crowded floating hotels. Generally, they are a health hazard, food poisoning, Novovirus, etc. disaster waiting to happen. Hope the authorities can force it out to sea.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Harbour.
Stay safe & stay healthy.
I would love to walk along that seaside Grace! And those ships look huge! I have never been inside of a Ship that big though I once rode a smaller ship to go to another island here. living on an archipelago is very hard but thanks to cheaper plane tickets during my age, I can get to see more of our islands faster and cheaper :) When I was very young plane tickets were over expensive.
ReplyDeleteI was on a cruise ship twice, first was the last too. Imagine being on one and sick!
ReplyDeleteCould not agree with you more about being on a cruise ship. Think these companies will be in financial trouble long after the Coronavirus crisis is over. You went to Fremantle for all right reasons.
ReplyDeleteI would never want to be on a cruise ship.
ReplyDeleteI love to travel and we do it quite a bit, but no cruise ships for us.
ReplyDeleteYou are lucky that you can go for a drive. We are now in day 25 of lock-down and we can only go out to buy necessitates with a printed form filed in with the date and time of leaving home. Walking now is maximum 1 hour and only in a 1 km diameter of the house. Paris is even tighter in that they cannot exercise at all during the day. Hopefully it will work and we will get back to normal sooner that we think. Take care Diane
ReplyDeleteThe water looks so pretty
ReplyDeleteI love traveling but not via a cruise ship. Never been on one and I'm fine with that.
ReplyDeleteI don't suppose they can shoot at it to encourage it to sail. There will be government pay back towards the company no doubt in the future.
ReplyDeleteWhat a mess. Cruise ships all over the globe are in trouble. I have taken many cruises, but once I took a European River Cruise is was hooked. Took two more. Never want to be on a big ship again....
ReplyDeleteWe can still take long walks and drives,,,,but things change almost daily here. Here’s hoping the world returns to normal for all of us.
I Agree With Janey - Classic Andrew - Beautiful Day For Sure
ReplyDeleteCheers
No more boats, thank you.
ReplyDeleteI fail to understand in the first place what "drives" one to go on a ship like that, Grace!
ReplyDelete"You can go shopping. You have cinemas, you can go in the pool and swim..."
Hm... yah, I have that here, also. And if - or when - I wanna go to Freo I take the plane. Geeeee, I get to see Perth as well! And you, Sami....
Sorry for those people, still, they sure did not want this. But right thing to handle it that way.
"The Grumpy Sailor" might be grumpy by now, though! ;-)
The photos are gorgeous ….
ReplyDeleteWe also have very nice weather in the Netherlands!
Enjoy your evening! 🤗
What a views. I see that Marianne found the problem hope everything is okay now.
ReplyDeleteI heard about this ship a couple of days ago. Thanks for providing the photos to go with the story. I'm with you on the "sailing" thing. It's not for me.
ReplyDeleteThese ships have become quite a problem around the world bring quite a lot of infected people ashore. Nice pics Grace.
ReplyDeletePretty sure I will never go on a cruise ship holiday.

I think it will be a long while before cruises become popular again.
ReplyDeleteI so enjoy these beautiful blue skies and dreamy water, especially as I sit here looking out at yes a very late winter snow storm entering our spring time. But secretly it makes me feel better about having to cancel our Easter Egg scavenger hunt.
