I had a feeling the reflection shots I took late in the evening at the airport back in February when picking Aimee up might come in handy, ironically more so now than ever the almost empty airport reflects the state of many airports around the world during this crisis. Who knew back at the beginning of the year this would be the state of affairs! On a lighter note I did have time to admire the sculpture here by Australian visual artist Carly Scoufos. The stunning 30 metre long hanging sculpture is made of hand woven copper wire, if you look at the close shot you can see exactly how much work that would have been, total respect for the creativity. Another quiet weekend ahead, take care and stay safe..
...not much is happening here, except in Red States were they still think that the virus is a hoax.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to even imagine our busy airport this quiet but, that is exactly what I've heard. There are a few flights taking off but I heard all international flights out of Phoenix have stopped.
ReplyDeleteLove that sculpture.
Looks so surreal just like everywhere else.
ReplyDeleteNice reflection at the airport Grace. That artwork is fabulous and so intricate, it would have taken ages to make it!
ReplyDeleteNot much happening anywhere, it's all so sad. Have a lovely weekend xx
That is so eerie looking, how empty it is. But the copper art is so beautiful and kind of reminds me of photos of coral reefs in the Great Barrier. There are still 0 flights going out of the Philippines but repatriates are given the chance to come back here especially overseas Filipino workers.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a beautiful weekend ahead Grace! Sending hugs!

ReplyDeletewow that sculpture is very cool - unusual, I like it.
ReplyDeleteÀ wonderful reflection and an amazing artwork too. I hope that everything is ok for you. Stay safe and have a nice weekend
ReplyDeleteA fascinating installation.
ReplyDeleteThat would be one expensive art project. The work intricate and taking lots of time, and the price of copper alone! It is a great piece.
ReplyDeleteThat Sculpture Is So Cool - Didn't Think Much At First - But Its Really Cool - Dig The Reflection As Well - Hell, I Always Enjoy Your Posting - You Rock
ReplyDeleteCheers
'around the world during this crisis' and 'take care and stay safe'.
ReplyDeleteSure! ;)
I can almost here the silence looking at these photos Grace. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteYes, Grace, that´s irony indeed.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful artwork, I´d never ever had the patience!
I always love reflection shots of any kind. No Grace the biscuits do not really taste like shortbread. Not as much butter and that have eggs in the which shortbread does not.. Hope you are keeping well, stay safe Diane
ReplyDeleteI like that artpiece, amazing it is made out of copper wires, would have thought those were threads!
ReplyDeleteGreat artwork.
ReplyDeleteI saw a jet-trail in the sky this morning! It's a rare sight these days. I'm glad the airport authorities see fit to commission works of art for their buildings.
ReplyDeleteA very nice artwork, Grace!
ReplyDeleteIt is made out of copper wires?
It is made out of copper wires ... ? That is a precious material. Indeed, respect for the creativity!
Have a great weekend and stay save! 🤗
É uma tristeza ver estes belos espaços completamente vazios.
