A few shots here from a past Anzac Day march and Dawn Service because 'for the first time since WWII Anzac Day services, marches and memorials have been cancelled across the nation putting decades of tradition on hold'. That does not mean in any way that the bravery of the men and women who have fought and died in war will go unobserved, this year it will just be in a different way. Instead of heading to Kings Park for the Dawn Service, we along with thousands of others around Australia will be sitting in our driveways at 6.30a.m (Perth time) tuning in to the ABC to listen to the dawn commemorative service. It would be incomprehensible, if after surviving the horrors of war, conditions so much worse than we are experiencing right now, to put the lives of the remaining veterans in any danger whatsoever. I get so emotional on this day, the thought of so many dying in order to make the world a better place, and really.. is it. Happy weekend, take care and stay extra safe..
...the times require changes. Stay safe Grace.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images, Grace. We must remember what the veterans did and honor them. Because of them we have and enjoy what we have.
ReplyDeleteGlad Anzac Day will continue in a different way.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weekend and stay safe, Grace.
I'm glad it will still be celebrated, just in a different way.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend Grace.
You brought tears to my eyes today, Grace.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear it will still be celebrated. Things are changing all over the world. Stay well.
ReplyDeleteQuite fitting, Grace.
ReplyDeleteAround the world people are finding new ways to celebrate and commemorate important events. The human spirit will come through this time.
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing to me the number of things that were cancelled. In this case hopefully just rescheduled.

ReplyDeleteNicely said.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your emotions with us. Happy Weekend.
ReplyDeleteOur fist ANZAC day was 1995. We didn´t even know about it - 1995, right!
ReplyDeleteWe came with near to no food to Carnarvon and the parking lot was empty, Wollies closed, we heard music and joined.
Most of the citizens were in the parade, few with sad and also proud faces cheering, it was moving.
The paper-Lonely Planet-book gave away what this was all about.
Grace, yes. We need to honour them and yes, those who made it are in danger now, how horrible, an invisible enemy.
I never heard about Anzac Day! Today I learned something new! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!🤗
I also find this a very moving day and usually join the community service. I believe the world is truly a better place because of their sacrifice. We have lived in very fortunate times in this lucky country, I hope the spirit of Anzac prevails in these more difficult days.
ReplyDeleteIt must have been a strange Anazc day this year but they will not e forgotten. Hard to fight something that you cannot see. Have a good weekend, Diane
ReplyDeleteSo many celebrations will be cancelled or postponed this year. I'm glad people find a way to celebrate regardless.
ReplyDeleteGrace that last photo was beyond amazing! Wow! It gave you a beautiful sky worthy of remembrance. I have read from a blog friend from New Zealand that they celebrated ANZAC Day also on their doorways. Please stay safe and enjoy the rest of the weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe horn reflection is cool!
ReplyDeleteLooks like quite a celebration that is being missed this year. I don't know that our world will ever be the same after this is all over with.
