.. and then this happened!

Heading into the second month of official autumn the weather gods fooled us into a false sense of security with a few fabulous cooler autumn days.. and then this happened! Taken on Sorrento Beach, someone get that lady an umbrella, on our way back from Fremantle Harbour on Wednesday. The temperature is heading in the wrong direction for the next few days 36/37C .. what the fox! Good to see no relaxing of social distancing though :) It is going to be a different Easter this year, let's hang in there and do the right thing so that next Easter this will be a far distance memory. Happy Good Friday, take extra care and stay safe.. Ps. Ooops! Take two below 😉

  1. ...I heard from a friend on Maui that the police are patrolling the beaches and asking people not to set up chairs. Walking is OK, but keep on moving.

  3. WOW hot weather? Nice to get out and enjoy it but I hope everyone is staying the correct distance away from each other. The beach looks wonderful. I would so love to see a beach right now. Any beach would do.......

  4. Oh that sapphire blue waters look so inviting! And geez! That temperature there looks the same as our Grace and it's Autumn there? Whoa! Here it gets 34-35 in the afternoon but the heat index goes beyond 40 and my afternoon naps are ending with me soaking wet with sweat ughhh! Wish this will all be over soon (and our summer fast as well) Stay Safe Grace!

  8. That is too hot for me to be at the beach. I would look for shade and a cool breeze.

  9. I'm very surprised there's no police there telling them to go home, here people have been surfing and driving around unncessarily.

  12. Yeah, I'll take two. While warm here today, Saturday and Sunday will be much cooler and keep people away from beaches.

  15. The range of colors of the water in the first photo is just amazing. We have hot summer weather here already, and it will only get hotter from now on. We are also on 24 hour lockdown - don't know how long that will last. I've canceled my usual trip to the US for the summer, so it will be my first ever summer here in Saudi. Stay well!

  16. It was 13C here today and I don't think I have ever seen so many people at the Lövhagen café and that made me a little nervous.

  17. Oh gosh, I don't know how anyone can sit in the direct sun like that. Maybe it will just be a quick warm up and back to fall weather quickly. I hope so.

  18. Grace!!!! I´m still freezing my butt off here! Please enjoy your temps! ;-)
Though, really. Sun-bathing? I would´t even do that here in Germany... I remember one colleague. She was in her early 40´s, me in my late 20´s.
And I thought, "by golly, I will look wrinkled like THAT when I turn 40?!" No. Still wrinkle free on my decolleté as I do not do "sun bathing" as she did. Cocktails and all that made her age way too soon.

And seeing this in Australia hurts! Why?? How??

Wise words, let´s hope for "a far distance memory"!

  21. How much I miss going to the beach, but here (Lisbon) we are in isolation in our homes, going out is to go shopping or to the pharmacy, it is forbidden to stay on the beaches.
    Have a wonderful Easter.

  22. Sooo hot, no wonder the beaches are more popular than they should be. I am sitting by a log fire here.

  24. What lovely views. We've been warned that sadly regardless of anything, our beaches, lakes and swimming pools will be closed this season. What a different world we're living in. But on the good side of things, it makes us think new, and keep moving search of things, perhaps small but in all we're still blessed to be here. Here's to new beginnings. (and thank goodness for our memories too!)
