Tantalizing tulips..

What a colourful weekend it was.. two blooming events in one day! At 11am when we arrived here at the Araluen Botanical Park, 35km south east of Perth, the other half of Perth's population that wasn't at the event we had just left were already here for the Tulip Festival. Araluen Botanical Park is beautiful at all times of the year but in Spring spectacularly so.. every year it takes my breath away to see the tulips en masse, the mixed colour displays and the many varieties, some fabulously flamboyant as above, others with frilly edges as below..

Standing out from the crowd..

... and of course my very own beautiful blossom :) I love taking people pics at events like this, will show a few more on Wednesday. Happy Monday, take care and stay safe...

  4. Love those tulips. We've another 6 - 7 months to wait until the tulips here are in bloom.

  7. The colour combinations are fantastic! Your photos bring back memories of our visit to the Dutch Keukenhof last Spring :)

  8. Tulips must be my favorite flower and your photographs show them in their perfect light! Right now they are a feast for the eyes as we're in the middle of a hurricane! I think we'll be OK here in north central Florida but we're expecting hurricane force winds tonight. Aargh!

  10. Dear Grace, I don't know why but some people's comments don't make it to my email and thus I never seen them unless I go into blogger and check out the "unmoderated comments" and I forget to do that especially if I've been off the CDP train for a bit. At any rate, I hope you know I would never, ever, ignore one of your comments and I am very grateful for your kindness and your wonderful comments on Ocala! Take good care, my friend!

  15. WE have a commercial tulip farm which allows the public in when the tulips are blooming. The admission price is rather high. I like your free one better.

  16. I have mixed feelings about tulips. The traditional ones, I find too staid. But in recent years I have found myself liking some of the more flamboyant varieties - the ones which look like little fires and those with wildly frilly petals. The photo of the yellow tulip among all the purple . . . I assume it was a mistake in planting but the result could be a symbol for many things which are good.

  17. I think they are gorgeous. I like them bundled together with the colors separated or wisely mixed. It makes for such a nice display.
