City Daily Photo theme.. 'Photographing the Photographer'.

For once I'm well prepared for the CDP Theme Day! The shots here are from a few months ago and saved especially for today. I quite often find myself taking photos at the same events in the city as the photographer here, he looks so much more professional than I :) And then there were two.. although I never take photos with my phone, some people use only their phone to capture that impromptu shot, handy I guess!

Well over 6ft I'm sure there are many advantages to being tall, but if your subject is tiny there's a lot of bending involved to get the right perspective.. I don't have that problem :) Looking forward very much to seeing today's theme shots from City Daily Photo bloggers around the world. Happy 1st of September, take care and stay safe...

  1. Great shots and interesting that you are getting the same results that the photographers are but with them included :-) Have a good day cheers Diane

  7. Fun looking people in those photos, captured nicely.

  8. I was thinking the same about the bending. It is not sustainable into your old age. These photos would be lacking a lot if they were in black and white.

  9. Fun shots! It's nice that you've gotten the photographers' subjects in the shot, too. That makes it even more interesting.

  10. Hi Grace! Slowly mending but it is a long haul. Doing well and walking without cane (haltingly!) but greatest issue is pain management. Your photos makes me feel bette!!

  11. Looks like a fun event. I use my cell phone sometimes when I am in a restaurant or store or museum, and carrying a camera would be awkward. I almost always have my camera when I'm outdoors though.

  13. You know what Grace, I don't have that "tall" problem either. At 5 foot 2, the only problem I have is raising the camera hight enough. These are great shots of a photographer at work.

  17. Nice work Grace. Cell phones for pictures?!?!??! I cringe at the thought although I see many in use. At least a digital imager needs a view finder. The sun washes out the silly LCDs.

  18. I will often have to hunch down when I'm out shooting. He sure looks like a pro with two cameras and a flash ready, nice snapping.

  19. Excellent photos for the theme Grace! I tend to use my cell phone for pictures when I see something unexpected and know I won't be quick enough to get a good shot with my camera. Crouching down like that would never work for me though. My balance is so bad I would probably fall over!

  21. Yes, Grace, sometimes, or say at rare times, it comes in handy to be small.

  23. I thought "Photographing the Photographer" meant selfies!

  24. Well done ! The problem with too many people with smart phones is that they want to be in front of the subject so they can get a selfie with it. Which of course blocks everyone else's view and photo. But don't get me started.

  25. They are all great photos Grace. You caught some great moments.

  26. Well done, Grace. You never use your phone? Wow! A purist! I find that increasingly I am using my phone. Even though my big DSLR is usually within arm's reach, there are still many times when the big camera is inappropriate and I see something I want to photograph. The iPhone takes remarkably good photos for something so apparently simple.
