So said Andre Gide! With all my phobias I would have made a lousy explorer :) but I do love reading about their exploits! The Trowbridge Gallery 'specialises in selling original prints from the 17th to 20th
century. Subject areas are wide and varied including early maps, charts
and prints of Western Australia, flora and fauna.' Fascinating! If you enlarge you will see the beaten metal work frieze around the doorway and above a glimpse of the tall ships on the ceiling.. will take a better shot when I go back to explore :) Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe.. P.s. would you have gone in?
I would definitely go in!
ReplyDelete...I'm afraid that I lack the courage!
ReplyDeleteI like how you photographed it Grace, with the view of the street through the walkway. It looks like one of those shops one could spend hours in!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness you said enlarge the photo and I saw the beautiful beaten metal work and also the tall ships. It looks like a shop I would love to visit. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day. Jo
ReplyDeleteI do like a nice globe!
ReplyDeleteI'd go inside!
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a shopper, so I would probably have stayed outside snapping away.
ReplyDeleteThose first three sentences could very well be referring to me! And my phobias have gotten worse as I gotten older. I mean, really, at my age what do I care about new oceans? :) I would definitely go in and meander about but probably wouldn't buy anything unless there were some of your magnificent photos on sale. 😎
ReplyDeleteI do love maps and globes. I have a world map, map of Ireland and a Europe map hanging on our walls. Since I was a kid, I always loved looking at them and dream where to go. I like those globes there so I would go in and check them out and probably just shake my head at the prices then leave. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great shop, both in content and appearance.
ReplyDeleteI would have gone in, for certain!
ReplyDeleteYou are an explorer, you just do a different kind of exploring. You've introduced us to quite a lot of new and beautiful things.
ReplyDeleteGrace, I would have gone into this shop in a heart beat. Love old maps, globes, and prints. This is my kind of store.
ReplyDeleteYes. I may have come out with the huge world globe in the window also. Be adventurous Grace. Go in. Beautiful street. Reminds me of maybe the one place in Florida I might miss.
ReplyDeleteI would go in! I love the look of those globes!
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting shop! The boys are studying explorers right now and they share with me what they are learning...man those people are brave! Nothing would ever have gotten discovered if it was up to me 😂
ReplyDeleteThe first joint purchase I made with my husband (a few weeks after we met and were in the early stages of love) was a big, beautiful atlas. A shop with the look of this one would be absolute catnip though I'd have a hard time fitting one of those globes into a suitcase.
ReplyDeleteI knew a lady had some interesting globes...Coffee is on
ReplyDeleteThere's a traveller in each and everyone of us. This is a shop full of treasures!
ReplyDeleteGosto destas lojas antigas e com história.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e boa semana.

ReplyDeleteThere is no way that I couldn't have gone in. I probably would browse around in there for a quite a while.
ReplyDeleteI would love to go in with you and Aimee 😋
