Do you have a favourite bookshop, a bookshop that you find irresistible and can't pass by? If you are addicted to books like moi I think you might find Elizabeth's Bookshop, Perth's oldest bookshop, literally too tempting :) Directly opposite the car park we use in the city the old rugs, the chandeliers, the sofas and most of all the seductive array of second hand and out of print books beckon me in like an old friend. I know I've shown Elizabeth's before but can you ever have too much of a good thing :) Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe.. P.s. I was after Ernest Hemingway's 'A Moveable Feast' but apparently any copies that come in go out as fast, amazing that he is still as popular today!
...the way book stores always were!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a favorite book-store like this one, but I buy all my books online these days.
ReplyDeleteWhile there was some closures, the end of bookshops has not happened as had been suggested by some. This one is one of the reasons why.
ReplyDeleteI love this shop.
ReplyDeleteI bet it even smells good.
😏
That bookstore I could spend hours in, just give me access to some coffee and I'll be on the couch. :)
ReplyDeleteI could spend a lot of time here.
ReplyDeleteMy kind of bookstore!
ReplyDeleteWhat a treasure! I would love that place!
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful, Grace! A Moveable Feast is one of my favourite books! I can't believe you were looking for it!I hope you find one.
ReplyDeleteI would be quite happy in there.
ReplyDeleteOh! A serious danger zone! I think I could find a lot of "must haves" there. It looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite used book shop closed about a year ago. Loved browsing through the collection and always found several books of interest.
ReplyDeleteThis could certainly be my favourite book store.
ReplyDeleteI thought that was your lounge at first.
ReplyDeleteAmazing to see such a good bookshop.
Awesome bookshop.
ReplyDeleteI love any bookshop. I could spend hours in them.
ReplyDeleteAm a bit behind at present but to answer your question, we have lived in France now as permanent residents for the past 7 years since N retired. Before that I spent 7 months here and returned to the UK for winter. We left South Africa/Rhodesia in 2002 after spending 50 years there.
Take care Diane
Este é um mundo de que gosto, o mundo dos livros.

That sofa would become my best friend, I may even bring a pillow along and get real comfortable perusing the books. Such a lovely and inviting place, nice of you to share.
ReplyDeleteThis looks so good Grace, I love those bookstores with seats and cosoy corners!
ReplyDeleteI could easily have spent money and time there.
ReplyDeleteAwesome bookshop, Grace !
ReplyDeleteHave they also books in Italian ?
It´s truly a beautiful place, Grace.
ReplyDeleteI now work more or less opposite my fav bookshop, but since I have my kindle I only get Braunschweig-books there, so being so near is bearable ;-)
Unfortunately, book shops are few and far between where I live however I do love to visit a certain used book shop every now and then. It has big easy chairs squeezed in among the overflowing shelves. Your top photo makes me think of it.
ReplyDeleteI love books too and prefer the printed kind. I've already bought 6 books here....so my suitcase vwill be heavier.
ReplyDeleteMy kind of place!
ReplyDeleteNow that certainly is my kind of place!
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
I d like to be there!!ew
ReplyDeleteYep, this is just my kind of place!
ReplyDeleteAs an author, I guess I should be embarrassed to admit this, but I can't remember the last time I was actually inside a bookstore....
