Yesterday was the official first day of spring.. not that you would know it! As I type now the wind is howling outside my window and la pluie has fallen steadily from the sky for most of the day, the top temperature not quite making 17C. The spring flowers however cannot be fooled.. the star jasmine adorning the pool fence has burst into flower, the lavender following close behind.. the perfume from both a heady mix..
Although the bonsai azalea below has no perfume it more than makes up for it visually. I am definitely not complaining, it will be a long hot summer so the cool can hang around as long as it wants :) Looking forward to seeing the Wildflower Festival in Kings Park. Happy weekend, take care and whatever you are up to, stay safe...

ReplyDeleteThat pink is gorgeous, Grace.
ReplyDeleteIt is 16˚C here but sunny so it is a beautiful day although a bit cool for this time of year! Our flowers are starting to wind down as the days get shorter.

I can't wait for a slight chill in the air. By this time of year, I'm getting pretty tired of the heat. Beautiful flowers Grace.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile Autumn is blowing in here :-( I see the leaves blowing of today and a definite temperature drop!! Presume you got my email. Keep well Diane
ReplyDeleteTrès jolies les fleurs. Chez toi c'est le printemps nous c'est la fin de l'été :)
ReplyDeleteOur leaves are falling! I envy your spring blooms, PDP.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteCool? 17C?
ReplyDeleteSorry you freeze so but at least the plants survive well.
Keep them well wrapped up...
The perfume of lavender blossom and leaves is so beguiling, lovely. It's around 17C here too, but we will be heading ion the other temperature direction from you soon.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers. Gotta love the aroma of lavender and the fine temperature.
ReplyDeleteThe azalea is certainly vivid. Maybe the phrase 'Send it down Louie', when you want it to rain comes from la pluie?
ReplyDeleteHow nice to be able to enjoy your spring. We have to slog through a couple of seasons before we get there again. It's interesting to see your lavender starting to bloom. Ours here doesn't start showing blossoms until we're into summer.
ReplyDeleteSpring is in the air for you, great to look forward too. We are slowly going into autumn....
ReplyDeleteSO beautiful pics.
ReplyDeleteMagnifiques photos. C'est bien le printemps qui commence. Ici on va doucement vers l'automne, et je n'aime pas beaucoup ça.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers, Grace. Ours are dying off now, lots of rain, too, here.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the Spring festival Grace, hopefully I'll still get to see the end of it. After a couple of rainy days the Sun has come out in force, it's 34 today here in Lisbon!
ReplyDeleteLovely looking photos and warm wishes to you.
ReplyDeleteYour final shot is burned in my mind!!! <3
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos Grace! We are REALLY looking forward to cooler weather. It's hit at least 100 degrees every day for at least a week. I'm melting...
ReplyDeleteSpring that everyone expected and waited for.
