Dodging the rain in Bocelli's..

Surely I can't be the only one who loves being in the city on a rainy day.. can I?  Sitting outdoors, undercover at Bocelli's Espresso in Forrest Place yesterday watching people dodge the rain as they dashed back and forth across the square. Considering the ominous skies it was surprising to see so many unprepared, without brollies.. including us :)

When we arrived in the city the markets on Hay Street were bustling.. this was the scene once the rain started.. only a few determined shoppers under their umbrellas! Did I mention that Bocelli's has won many awards for their coffee, with good reason, è molto delizioso! Hope you had/are still having a good weekend, happy Monday, take care and stay safe.. P.s. big catch up today!

  1. Too bad for the venders at the market to have the rain come after all of their efforts to set up!

  2. Wonderful rainy day shots! It's been a couple of weeks now since we've had rain, but we had a summer filled with it.

  3. Oh what a bad weather, I hate it. We had this a few days ago but fortunately summer has returned for a few days. Great photos anyway as long you sit in a dry place :) !

  5. Rainy days can offer wonderful photographic opportunities and you, being a very smart person, took advantage of this one. Now, a question: It appears to me that you have played with your pictures to give them an "edgy" look. Or, it could just be the colors displayed on the street. Whatever, I like it a lot - the "edgy" look. Another question: What is that white thing in the background that looks like the shell of a tram?

  6. Big raindrops. More than just a little drizzle.

  7. Very relaxing sitting in outdoor places in the city when it rains. Good days for reading, typing, and real photography as paper response is more suited to cloudy and rainy. Film is just the opposite. Snow is fun too, but not too many outdoor places open in the winter. Differences between the old way and digital. Oh, I'm delving into digital imaging. Nice rainy day pictures Grace.

  9. A familiar scene unfortunately. Rain does offer great reflections though. Hope you enjoyed your coffee. :)

  11. ...nothing to dodge here these days. Our wet cool summer has turned in a hot dry fall.

  12. Rainy days can be a photographer's dream with the reflections and muted lighting. That last photo evokes the mood of Paris.

  14. I love the city when it rains and will almost always get out so I can really enjoy it. These photos are great and make just a tiny bit jealous because we don't get much rain here.

  16. Lovely photos of a rainy day Grace! I enjoy the rain too, but not the lightning which so often accompanies the rain here where I live.

  19. Bocelli's looks like a primo location on a rainy day. And I've told myself that you didn't climb a tree in order to take the picture looking down on it. Anyhow, very nice rainy day shots. I've found that when I heed rain warnings it never comes so I often just take my chances.
