Just when you think it couldn't get worse..

... it did! It has been a wee bit chilly in Perth, we haven't cracked the 20C all week. The top today 17C, which to northern hemisphere readers might sound like a summers day but for we Perthites that is definitely coat, scarf, boot and beanie weather :) What really makes me nervous is driving in the heavy rain, don't worry I wasn't driving when I took these. Above, leaving the city I liked the way the red stop-lights bounced and scattered off the rain drops on the windscreen.. below, not so much fun having a huge road trailer driving so close when it was almost impossible to see it! I am aware that our weather is inconsequential compared to what others have gone/are still going through, merely to show you that the skies are not always blue here in Perth. Happy Friday, take care and stay safe..

  1. All the rain through the windshield ends up giving things an impressionistic feel.

Our heat here finally broke yesterday afternoon with a brief but intense storm.

  3. We haven't had rain for a few weeks but the heat left us last night. It is 15˚C right now so I have put a long sleeve T-shirt on but am still wearing sandals! No scarf or coat for a long while I hope!

  4. That 2nd shot looks like you're driving in the dark! Yikes. I don't like driving anymore, mostly because the big semi trailers have taken over the roads and they drive so fast and as you say you can't see over them or around them...Aargh!

  5. I hate those wet conditions. I fear those wet roads!

    Safe travels, PDP.

  6. I love seeing "wet" photos like this. I think I see the all too familiar shape of palm trees soaking up some of that rain in that first shot. At least it looks like the street is framed by a couple of palm trees.

  7. I really feel for you. Our Summer peaked at, dear I say it 27C, and that was just the one day. Stay dry.

  8. I'm glad that I no longer drive. I used to hate driving at night and in pouring rain. It can be scary at times that's for sure. I do like photos like these but not the conditions. Stay safe and dry!

  9. The rain does wonderful things to the streets also. Love all the reflections, and you are quite right about the rain drops doing great things with colored lights. Have a great Friday. We are suppose to have a rainy weekend.

  10. Happy rain day Grace! It could be worse. You could live in Houston.
I remember 39.7 inches in 3 days. A wall of water coming at you is no fun. Been about 32C here the past week, and this is Michigan.

  11. I am sure many people there are saying, oh well, we need the rain.

  12. Oh that does look wet and dismal! Rain is coming here, too, but I don't expect to take a nice shot like your first one anytime soon. And that second one is downright scary.

  13. It's no fun driving in heavy rain, I don't like it either.

  14. That looks terrible, last night my husband brought our daughter home and they came in a simular downpour!

  15. Lovely, dreamy shots! I'm sure you are all glad of some rain.

  16. As much as I love rain I hate driving in it, too, Grace.
    17C is definitively thicker-jacket weather.

  18. I hate driving in rainy weather too. It's been far too cold in Perth for Spring Grace!

  19. I agree with William. It does have an Impressionistic look.
