Mid-autumn blues.. and silver linings!

I took these shots yesterday afternoon standing on Mullaloo Beach, about ten minutes from where I live, looking up the coast towards Ocean Reef Boat Harbour. What attracted me to the shot was the formation of clouds disappearing away into the distance in little puffs of white, grey and maybe even the odd silver lining :) In the shot below you can see that same cloud formation looking back the way I had come.. the colours of the sky and sea are an ever changing mystery don't you think!

... and look at that! Very high in those clouds a feathered predator hovering. It's not a good shot, I only had a moment to change lens but if you pull it in you can see the falcon, head down searching before he swooped on his unsuspecting prey! They are pretty amazing to watch in action. Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe...

  6. The cloud formations are really lovely. I wish my rushed shots (the bird of prey) came out as well as yours!

  7. Light is an amazing thing especially down at the beach.
The sky in each direction changes colour, the sea varies here and there, the light is always so 'clear' near a beach caused I muse by bouncing off water.
    Great for pictures!
A Falcon would be good anywhere!
    Super shots!

  12. Great cloud formations really lift these shots and I do like the falcon, we have a pair living in the mountains behind our home we hear them more than see them. Very distinctive call.

  28. Très belles photos. C'est vrai que les nuages venant de la mer sont magnifiques et mystérieux par contre je n'ai jamais vu d'oiseau de proie au-dessus de la mer, c'est étonnant, belle journée à toi :)

  30. Ooooohhh. Those clouds are nice. I was driving today and saw terrific clouds, kind of like these, but I never stopped to take a photo. When I got where I was going, it was less interesting than I expected, so I had cloud photo failure and destination photo failure.
