Croque Madame with Mrs S..

Caught up with sisters and nieces yesterday for brunch at Mrs S in Maylands, a tres popular weekend brunch spot. We had to wait a while for a table to free up, the days when you could phone up and book a table are long gone. It was worth the fifteen minute wait, brunch was excellent and even though Perth has a reputation for being expensive, if you pull in the menu below, what do you think? My Croque Madame at $13.50 was worth every scrumptious bite :) Aren't those menus too cute!

Look what I spotted as we came out, don't know what it is but was worth a quick shot oui! Hope you're having a good weekend, take care and stay safe... p.s. check out Aimee's post to see what she had for brunch. P.p.s. can't wait for Monday mural :)

  4. It looks like a friendly place. I've had a croque monsieur before.... I understand the difference between the two is just a matter of an ingredient or two.

  5. Wonderful cafe scenes. Love all the expressions on the faces of the waiting people inside the cafe. And the old car waiting at the lights wins me.

  7. Marvelous old car! I'm posting a picture of one tomorrow that I saw recently downtown. I do love those menus and the clothespins are so cute! Glad you had fun.

  8. Prices are much as you pay in a similar place here. The car tail lights are distinctive and I have seen a car with them before, but I can't remember what it was. Maybe they are an add on.

  9. That looks like a totally cool place to eat. I love the menus. A 15 minute wait seems like nothing to me. Around here it's more like 30 to 45 minutes. We have a famous pizza place where the wait can be 2 hours. Needless to say, I don't dine there very often.

  14. Being from the Lion-City I´d certainly would like to know "How Do Lions Say I Love You" :-)
Cute menue-cards for sure, fancy idea!
Not so nice to see that some wear long sleeve pullovers already! (Well, we still do, too).
Beautiful car, reminds me of Cuba. And there really is a "B.Y.O."! We don´t have that here, weird idea to bring a bottle of beer or wine with you to a restaurant!

  17. Those menus are cute, and we have a fun little bistro that delivers your bill inside old children's books and you can jot down notes inside of it! So fun to see and read! I just adore folks and their clever ideas!
