OMG! The vibrant yellow orchids here have to be the hardest flower I've ever tried to macro. I shot with bright inside light, outside in natural light, with the macro lens, the prime lens, you name it I tried it :) still not happy with results! The tiny exotic blooms reminded me of Marilyn Monroe's dress flying up in the famous subway scene in The Seven Year Itch.. do you see it? As you might have guessed it was a quiet day yesterday :) Happy Thursday, take care and stay safe...
super ,heel mooi resultaat.
ReplyDeleteThese are exquisite and I've never seen yellow ones before!! I'm awe struck! Great captures as far as I'm concerned and so much beauty!! Thanks, as always, for sharing!! Hope your week is going well!!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful yellow flowers and you have them arranged so artistically. I love the comparison to Marilyn's dress. That's perfect.
ReplyDeleteWonderful--yellow is my favorite color!
ReplyDeleteThey do that sometimes the flowers but in the end we will win!
ReplyDeleteJe n'ai jamais vu d'orchidées jaunes, j'aime bien la première photo :)
ReplyDeleteThey are great shots, Grace! I've bought these little guys before and it is so nice that they last a long time!
ReplyDeleteThe flower is great but difficult to get such things just right.
ReplyDeleteThe second shot looks very good to me.
Oh yes. You are correct. I see Marilyn. it's the same innocent exuberance for life.
ReplyDeleteI love your dress analogy. They're pretty flowers and you did a creditable job with the photos. The close-up shows off the intricacy of the bloom.
ReplyDeleteWait! What? Marilyn Monroe? :-)
ReplyDeleteI see your point about blowing up dresses. Second photo shows pretty good detail.
ReplyDeleteLooks pretty, and surrounded with books etc.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the bright yellow in the room.
The shots look great to me Grace. And you know I'm struggling with a macro myself too at the moment. Note to self - ignore orchids until better trained.
ReplyDeleteThey certainly are pretty, Grace. That comment from safwan is spam, albeit creatively done. I saw it word for word at my blog today and another blog, but under another name.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. Sometimes too much light is bouncing and vibrating to get a clear sharp shot, and you end up photographing light -which can be good too as you show, Grace

=^..^=
Yes I do see Marilyn's dress. Gorgeous photos.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Grace. Your yellow flowers turned out better than my yellow cactus flowers.
ReplyDeleteThey are all pretty, but I know what you mean. The yellow is so strong it seems to overcome some of the detail. Maybe you can get advice from Sharon. Her macros are great. (Mine aren't, so I can't give you any help.)
ReplyDeleteStunning color.
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with those shots!
ReplyDeleteThe second one has the best DOF, the fourth the best composition. Part of the problem is that a lot of digital cameras over-saturate reds and yellows. If you use Lightroom or Photoshop you can selectively reduce that.
ReplyDeleteI see it Grace. Marylin would be pleased.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very clever connection Grace, beautiful plant..
ReplyDeleteI can see what you mean with the Marilyn effect.
ReplyDeleteMy orchid shots are always awful, these are lovely. Tom The Backroads traveller
ReplyDeletei was thinking of that movie when i read your title! i think your shots are pretty!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics, Grace, and yes, I can see the dress. Especially in the last shot.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers, but I get that this kind of yellow may be difficult to catch!
ReplyDeleteSuperb captures!!
ReplyDeleteDifficult to capture, but you did a nice job. Love the title and linking the flower to the MM movie. Loved the movie and her way of staying cool.
ReplyDeleteI think yellow is very hard to photograph! I think you did a fine job!
ReplyDeleteYes, I do see it. And what's not to like about your photos? They are wonderful and the flowers are a delight!
ReplyDeleteThe rich buttery yellow of these orchids is enchanting. Gorgeous perspectives.
