"Life is like a boxing match,
defeat is declared not when you fall
but when you refuse to stand again"
With winter fast approaching it's a little colder and a little darker early morning, as it was at 6am yesterday, but by the time Aimee and I, along with friends arrived in the city at 7.30 the sun was out and it was the perfect day for a bit of a walk :) Perthites never fail to impress with their enthusiasm for a good cause and the Mother's Day Classic was no exception, thousands turned up at Langley Park to walk/run to raise money for breast cancer research, including a pink robed Darth Vader and companions.. check out the photo bomber below :)
'Real men wear pink'..
The 8km walk start line on Riverside Drive up towards the Bell Tower and around Langley Park.. twice!
This was what it was all about. Daughters and sons walking for their mums, nannas, cousins and friends who have lost or are fighting the battle.
... and look, at the end we even got a Mother's Day pressie, how cool was that! I got a little excited because I thought it was chocolate, well after 8km that would have been very much appreciated.. the beauty goodies were a lovely idea too :) Hope all you mums out there had or are still having a wonderful day, what did you get up to? Happy Monday, take care and stay safe.. p.s. when we arrived home Aimee did make me the most delicious breakfast.. so good!
What a colorful and uplifting day! Thanks for your part in it and for showing us!
