Active Artspace 2015..

Oh how I would love to tell you that I had painted this wonderful floral, but no.. I can only wish! On Saturday we went to Activ Artspace 2015. An exhibition of  artwork created by people living with disabilities. The work above titled 'Bunch of Flowers' by Roslyn Burns who paints exclusively with her left foot while seated in her armchair with the support of her mentor, is the centerpiece of the exhibition auction, some lucky person will be going home with a treasure! There are over 50 pieces of original art in the exhibition, below just a few..

For the first time this year due to popular demand the exhibition has added a photography category and if I had only been a little earlier I might have been in time to snap up this fun, quirky shot titled 'Divas' taken by Warren Wells, just look at those legs :) someone beat me to it! The exhibition will run until the 17th May, so worth a visit. Well here we are Friday once more, seriously before we know it's going to be ... no I won't say it :) Happy Friday, take care and stay safe..

  1. I buy little calenders from artists who have that type of disabilities and have to use the feet or toes to paint but really they have a talent all the time. Don'you think.

The art is so pretty the flowers. Thank you for sharing.

  7. Wow, there is some fantastic work here. I don't think I could paint anything near as nice with both hands. Love the photo. Those are some pretty saucy "ladies".

  19. Happy Friday Grace, I'm always impressed with artists with disabilities...years and years and years ago I saw a photo/article about an artist who painted with her brush in her teeth and I'm thinking OK I"ve got two hands so what the heck is my excuse :) Love the "Divas" photo :)
