C'est une tragédie.....!

No not really, the only tragedy here is that I didn't think to hide the price tag hanging there from view, it does kind of spoil the whole Greek tragedy aura I was going for :) No matter, it wasn't a dramatic piece I was after although I did enjoy the grouping of these statues and couldn't help wondering what purpose they would fill in a suburban garden! After something much more friendly and welcoming plus a new letterbox, we made the trip over the river to the main branch of Soils ain't Soils possibly the biggest supplier of both in Perth, plus everything else you would ever need in the construction of a garden.....
What do you think, grrrrrr the angry gargoyle above left or the rather 'ho hum' bored by the whole looking scary thing gargoyle on the right! Either way it may put the wind up the postman..which might not be a bad idea, all I ever seem to get in the mail these days are bills :(  Loved the elephant and rhino below left, but the huge black gorillas..what's that all about! I inquired and was told that they are very popular, go figure! I did find a much friendlier statue, a postbox..and a blog post..oh yes, it's a hat trick! Hope you had (or are having) a super weekend, take care.....

  1. If I was lucky enough to have a garden, I'd like to decorate it with fairies; Not with sad things or scary animals! But that makes a funny post! Have a nice week!

  2. Love the bored gargoyle. But, with it being so large, where on earth would one be able to place it?! Hope all's well Down Under!

  4. We have a similar place in Haninge. Lots of weird stuff for the garden. All very expensive, but they serve good coffee.

  5. We have a place like that in a town an hour's drive up the valley. I suspect I'd end up getting gargoyles for a garden. Yes, I know, I'm weird.

  7. I like some of the garden statuary I see in other people's yards, but when I am shopping I never see one of those garden sculptures that I want to take home with me.

  8. None of these do it for me although I would think the elephant could be fun poking its head out of some foliage!

  10. How's life on the other side of planet Earth? It always looks like summer in Perth when I cast a glance from time to time on your blog - doesn't matter which season we have here in Germany.
    I didn't know you've elephants in Australia... ;-)

    Have a great day, Uwe.

  12. Some people put some interesting items in their yards/gardens. I don't mind so long as I don't have to do it. I see such things as just another maintenance problem. :)

  17. Gotta get me one of those elephants for my garden. It may keep the possums at bay.

  18. Bored gargoyle, from that angle, looks a little like his head is a teapot. If you think that's rude... grumpy to his left is definitely a good capture of my own poisonality, and I'm insulated by how cheap he is. Domage indeed.

Love them garden places, though, and this one looks bigger than any I've ever seen. Fun day out!
