There's no reason for me to post this pic other than I like it! Sitting in a cafe in
Northbridge Piazza at the weekend almost under the arch that I told you all about
here, not sure what made me look up, the sky was so blue, the arch so dramatic..I snapped, I'm glad I did. Don't let that blue sky fool you though, with one day to go before the official start of our winter, it's a wee bit chilly..top of 14C yesterday and 2C overnight brrr! I may have to break out the heat bag haha! Happy Friday, hope it's a good one, take care.....
I love the creative uses of art around town. The only kinds of art I DON'T like are the metal statues that look like people. At night, it's a bit creepy:)
ReplyDeleteI like this arch and the way you pictured it!But I'm wondering: no problem with tall buses or trucks?..
ReplyDelete14° here too, BUT we are supposed to be in summer soon!First year that weather is so bad..
Have a nice friday!
Wow, that is dramatic indeed! I like the metallic gleam against that perfect blue sky, you caught it at just the right angle too (wish I could send you some of our sudden insane heat, haha:)
ReplyDeleteIt's a strange arch. New architecture right? :-)
ReplyDeleteWow, very creative image, Grace! Nice artwork and a beautiful blue sky, great!
ReplyDeletewell, not a statue of Michelangelo, but... I like it as well !
ReplyDeleteciao
Can't believe it might be 1C warmer here but with rain :(. Lots of rain :( :(! Your image is excellent! Another one worth framing, Grace.
ReplyDeleteWeird sculpture...but it sure made for a great photo!!! Love the contrast and reflections in that top shot!!!
ReplyDeleteOkay, this is going to sound weird but that top photo made me think of what I see when I get a migraine aura. I'm one of those people that frequently get the aura but luckily I never get the headache. That top photo looks just like what I see when I get one. that zig-zaggy line starts out tiny and just keeps getting bigger until it completely disappears. Makes me wonder if the artist gets migraine auras too.
ReplyDeleteI do not like, particularly, this Arc.
ReplyDeleteHere in Spain the time spent is unstable and not 18 ° C.
Hugs, Kisses and Good Weekend.
I liked this when I saw it before and I still do! The close up certainly adds to the creative element of it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a coincidence - I notice that the cafe in the 2nd photo is called "Dome" - our usual haunt for breakfast in Prestwick in Scotland is called "Dome", but not nearly as grand!
Small world.
I like the arch! It is 30˚C here today - air conditioners going everywhere.
ReplyDeleteThe arch against the very blue sky is a beautiful image; I can understand why you were taken by it! Sharon's answer is VERY interesting.
ReplyDeleteAn arch that's not an arch, interesting
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with this! The first shot looks almost surreal, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteChilly....? 14?
ReplyDeleteDid a woman driver hit that arch perhaps....?
And here we're having a warm day. Good shots!
ReplyDeleteThe perfect angle for a dramatic shot. Well done.
ReplyDeleteI'm still not sure about that arch - but from your angle it is almost dizzyingly dramatic.
ReplyDeleteHere we had a bit of heat alert, 35C with a humidex of almost 40C!
oh, I see Redpat mentioned that... I live about 65 km southwest of where she is where it was hotter :)
I like it because it's so different.
ReplyDeleteFrom my perspective, "I took the picture because I liked it and I am showing it because I want to" is a perfectly good explanation. Hey, on my blog I show what I want. It's my blog! And this is yours!
ReplyDeleteQuite a bold sculpture.
ReplyDeleteGood one for Skywatch Friday! Now to warm up by sitting in the sun.
ReplyDeleteThat is way cool. I might find it disorienting if I were driving and came upon it unexpectedly.
ReplyDeleteGrace, 12C here, raining (what else?), beginn of summer: Tomorrow ;-)
ReplyDeleteCool arch, must really start to make a to-see list here on your blog!
Happy Friday!
That's a FINE reason to post a shot!! Who cares about having a 'real' reason?!?!
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting modern structure, very artistic!I love your first composition, the blue sky is wonderful! Have a nice weekend dear Grace!
ReplyDeletehugs
Léia
