I couldn't help wondering if anyone sitting here ever looks up and sees the ethereal sculpture above them, she is untitled but I think we should call her Florence, because although Florence Hummerston was called 'Battleaxe Hummerston by her detractors I feel she had the heart of an angel. Sculpted by WA artist Simon Gilby she looks over the unknowing workers below. I think this is a clearer shot than I showed you here.. love that Olympus :) If you pull it in closer you can see that it's made up of hundreds of small coils, tres clever right! One more sleep till the weekend, have you got big plans? Happy Friday, take care and stay safe.....

You made me go wow!'
ReplyDeleteYou I've in art city. Even the birds are flamboyant, G :-)
Aloha
She's wonderful, Grace.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful and surprising sculpture. It must really be high up because you can't see it in the other two photos at all. I had to look up this remarkable woman and found that she was quite accomplished. Bravo for her!
ReplyDeleteLoved her in the other post and love her here too! She has an amazing quality, and you've an amazing eye...and I love how the middle woman has no idea:) (Oh, our magnolias don't last long enough, a week or so, though this year different spots are randomly blooming at different times - I like Spring dragging itself out:)
ReplyDeleteI remember her, I mean in the tree. I just absolutely love her. Wouldn't mind a sandwich under a tree myself!
ReplyDeleteNobody looks at the sky, now.
ReplyDeleteThey lost this original and unique sculpture.
In the pictures of the previous blog, I am myself 30 years ago.
Memories of Youth!
Hugs and kisses.
A nice serie of photos!
ReplyDeleteWell done!
It looks like a nice sculpture, but that tree is awesome. That trunk! I love it, plus the lovely yellow and green in the background
ReplyDeleteShe does look like up in that tree
ReplyDeleteThe well hidden Florence makes a welcoming return.
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! That is amazing! I love art like this. Clever magic on a beautiful tree!
ReplyDeletePeople never seem to look up.
ReplyDeleteThe fire in the tree is terrific, Grace. The posture is much like that of the office worker in the second photo. A fine series today!
ReplyDeleteThis sure beats eating lunch in a cafeteria.
ReplyDeleteOr eating at one's desk.
Interesting sculpture. The first photo looks like be at lunch time.
ReplyDeleteThe sculpture is remarkable! It seems familiar to me - did you show it before? Is the tree above the girl on the phone a jacaranda? My very favourite tree? I have a small one in my green house here.
ReplyDeleteIt is such a special sculpture, only almost invisible up there.
ReplyDeletelove this ... street art is one of my favorite photo ops
ReplyDeleteOh, this is so terrific, Grace!! I don't how I missed it yesterday, but glad I found it today! You do find the best shots!!
