Far from the maddening crowd .....!

Oh my gosh I hope I haven't 'talked it up' too much, you may be disappointed, but this image I just might be tempted to frame and hang, for me this shot says it all, if you're going to be dragged along to an art gallery at least find something that makes sense! This chap had wandered away from the mob around the corner oohing and aahing over a Picasso and had found a group of nude sketches to quietly contemplate, well you know where you are with a nude don't you! The tonal colours appeal to my eye, creams and browns always feel very calming don't you think? Have a peaceful Wednesday, take care and stay safe.....p.s. this must be the first single shot post I've done for ages haha!

  8. Es liegt halt immer im Auge des Betrachters, Kunst ist ja an sich zeitlos und somit auch frei einer Altersbeschränkung nach oben...

  9. I like this a lot. It reminds me of the photographer giants of old. Yes, by all means, frame it and hang it!

The only thing is you could have enlarged it a bit so the nude sketches were a little more clear. I'm suffering from eye strain at the moment! :-)

    Just kidding!

  15. I never seem to escape the maddening crowd. Last Saturday, I was at a huge gallery opening for a group show my partner was in. I even saw the actor Jack Black standing behind me. If only I had the nerve to pull out my camera and photograph him.

  25. I have the same issue but sometimes one image is just right. You are right, of course, about the contemplative tone and the appeal of well-done nudes, but it's worth learning to appreciate Picasso, too.

  26. This is awesome!!! No you are dead on.....this is picture perfect. Nice work here. He even kinda looks a little like Picasso:) This is a great pic because it's layered. 1. Comtemplation 2. The subject....art. 3. The Gentleman

And then the interpretation.....timeless, looking back on life remembering times past.....etc etc....kudos!

  38. I don't wanna be all grammar Nazi, but it's "far from the madding crowd." :) And yeah, Gracie, I'd frame that sucker: it's BRILLIANT :) Epic. It's "that one." I was going to say I'd B&W it, but I actually like it...its hint of color speaks volumes...well done. Excellent capture...
