Dr ......who?

Spotted while walking along the coast road.. A TARDIS gate, how super cool is that! As long time Dr. Who fans both Aimee and I really enjoyed that the owners of this large house obviously have a sense of fun and whimsy and blow the neighbours :) Keep your eyes open for something quirky on your travels today, I'm always on the lookout! Happy Wednesday, take care.....

La femme dans la pygamas .....!

How would you like to wear your pyjamas to work every day! I arrived at the shops early yesterday and as I waited it was fun to watch the girls who work in the Peter Alexander shop arrive for work in their p.j's, Aimee's idea of the perfect work wear! In 2012 Peter Alexander, Australia's king of sleepwear celebrated 25 successful years and if you check out his catalog.. you might even have ordered something online.. you'll under stand why he's 'so good in bed' :) and yes I am a fan! An avid supporter of the RSPCA the 'adoorable' decor below is modeled on his beloved sausage dog Penny who is now in doggy heaven, too cute! Lovely and cool today, when I say cool I mean 28C.. it's all relative right! Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe.....

Umbrellas in the garden.....?

You'll probably guess after reading this post that it was way too hot to get out and about much today, so a post closer to home was called for. Thinking of the wonderful perfume, I planted four gardenias back in spring when the weather was much cooler.. the 'Augusta Magnifica' is one of the hardier gardenias but even so the full sun on a 44C day could easily have been their demise! Out came the brollies to provide much needed protection, brilliant idea n'est pas! I'm happy to say all survived and a cooler week ahead is forecast, phew! Meanwhile the brazen hussy below turned her face to the sun and begged for more :) Hope you've had a wonderful weekend, take care.....

Come on..come on in.....!

Oh how I wish I wasn't terrified of deep water.. look at that gorgeous blue ocean.. but it would take more than 44C to get me in, there's bitey things out there :) I'm not exactly sure when the 'fear' began, I remember family holidays by the sea in Mozambique when we were young, brilliant times cavorting in the waves.. my theory is that as you get older you begin to realize all the possible mishaps that could occur, bit of a shame really! So now je préfère to stand on the beach and look tall in my own shadow :) Another scorcher today, ah well as someone succinctly pointed out to me it IS summer and we are in Australia.. point well made :) I hope all is well in your part of the world, take care and stay safe.....

Onyesha encore.....!

Oui I did it again! Another portrait shot.. I'm finding this resolution so much easier than the 'lose five kilos' :) Hayley (right) and Shani looked after Aimee and I so beautifully yesterday when we paid a return visit to Onyesha Spa only 30 minutes on the freeway from home, merci beaucoup girls, we will be back.. perfect for that special treat, believe me after the last few weeks we both needed a little 'cocooning' :).  You can read my post describing our last visit here.

Driving through the gates of Onyesha is almost a little surreal, like entering into a secret Eden.. verdant comes to mind! After a refreshing herbal tea we were led down through the tall trees, alive with the chatter of birds, to the lakeside villa.. our view below, where we were brushed, massaged and polished to a state of total bliss.. niiiice! that's so much more than just nice :) We have a 44C day ahead of us today, bet you the beaches will be packed.. madness! Hope you have a wonderful weekend, take care and stay warm..or cool depending! To see more reflections from around the world click here. p.s. the bench below is for you Malyss, but you may have to make the image bigger to see it! p.p.s. catch up today!

Morning all.....!

After a very frustrating evening with 'Whoops, that's an error' I decided to pack it in and start fresh today..so far so good.. A very early walk in Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park yesterday morning helped to balance the equilibrium.. early morning is definitely the best time to take shots of the kangaroos the light is magic! So many little joeys hopping about..  mum checking me out above and bub below.....

 Save me mum, so cute.....!

If I stick my head in your pouch she won't see me :)

The joeys are seriously cute though don't you think.. but like everything, they get less cute as they grow up :) I know some of you have been having a few problems with blogger also, I guess we're lucky that it doesn't happen too often... should I have said that, did I just hex us all :) We are expecting a scorcher of a weekend (43C) but after hearing of the horrendous weather conditions being experienced in the NH I have no grounds for complaint.. I hope all is well and that some semblance of normality (?) returns very soon, take care and stay safe.....

Passing time with Percy......!

Waiting for Aimee outside EB Games on Sunday I reacquainted myself with Percy Buttons 1892-1954.. a colourful character (see link) arriving in Perth from England in 1910, immortalized in bronze here on Hay St. right in the centre of the CBD by Joan Walsh-Smith & Charles Smith. A much loved street entertainer in the early 1900's on a good day he could earn up to four pounds, which got me to wondering what sort of average earnings a street busker would hope to earn nowadays!

Up towards Barrack St. it looked kind of quiet in the city and then, turning the other way.. oh yeh, there they all are, heading through Ye Olde London Court very popular with les touristes! So long Percy Buttons, I would have definitely put a coin in your top hat.. and taken a picture with my box brownie :) Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe.....p.s. doesn't Percy create a happy shadow!
