Autumn at Araluen.. Beyond the mist.

I did forget to mention in yesterday's post about our trip to Araluen Botanic Park that the misty effect in a lot of the pics is actually from smoke from prescribed burning in the area, not quite as romantic as mist but with a similar effect :) the shot directly below is one of my fave's. More yellows with a splash of orange today and as if there wasn't enough to enjoy each of the pillars of the pergola had wonderful old black and white photographs showing the history of the park, who doesn't love a bit of history in black and white :) Hope you enjoyed this jaunt to the park with me, we might go again and see how the park looks in winter. Happy Friday, take care and stay safe..

  3. Beautiful images, Grace. The smoke (mist) makes them look peaceful.
All my years on the wildfire line and I never gave thought of smoke adding to the artistry of a photograph. Nice work!.

  4. It's funny that you should mention a prescribed burn right after I just heard a news story about scheduled prescribed burns here. I think forestry people are working hard to try to avoid the serious fires we've seen in the past few years.
This looks like a great place for a walk in nature. I love the colors on all the trees and plants.

  7. It really is such a nice park and you must return when the wisteria on the arbour is in bloom. Just as an aside, it has been discovered that some so called prescribed fuel reduction burns are actually logging coupe burns.

  8. Love the soft tones in your photos. With the mist the first couple look almost like watercolor paintings.

  12. Pity of those photographs. They interfere a bit with the beautiful landscape. The administrators should hang those somewhere else.
