Sundancer Backpackers Hostel.. backpacking, is it for you?

It will be interesting to see how many of you have traveled the world staying in backpacker hostels and what the experience was like? I never did and now it's a bit too late, when I do brave-up and take to the air if when I reach my destination I don't like to share my bedroom/bathroom space with anyone I don't know :) The Sundancer Backpackers Hostel located in a heritage building on High Street, big plus, in Fremantle gets good reviews, if you're interested have a look inside here. Oh to be young and adventurous again! Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe..

  1. I like the architecture. I've never done hostels myself. The one here that first comes to mind used to be the county jail.

  2. Those backpacker days are long over, Grace. Last time was Sydney in 1995 with two other people and some cockroaches...
I think you haven´t miss out on anything... (or we were too old already back then).

  4. Great looking building!

I have never backpacked and never would, not even to live over again. I never felt interested enough to try it. I admire that spirit of adventure in others however.

  6. I like the building but it sounds too much like a college dormitory and I did not like that at all!

  8. My one regret in life is that I didn't backpack my way across Europe when I was right out of school. What an adventure I could have had. Maybe I could have ended up the female version of Rick Steves!

  9. The hostel is huge. We stayed at one here in Moville before we moved here. It was off season and actually a nice experience. We had our own room, bathroom and had access to the kitchen to eat and cook if we wished and we did. When we travel we usually stay at hotels. Like you, we don't like to share room or bathroom.

  12. What a wonderful building Grace! I'm afraid I've never been the backpacking type, not even in my younger days.

  14. I am afraid I will fall on my back with a backpack now! When I was a teenager I slept in youth hostels when biking with my sister through our country. But now I prefer a hotel with bathroom...

  16. It's a nice looking backpackers.
My husband and I stayed at Youth hostels when we started travelling in our twenties, mainly in Germany. Not something I would do now for sure!

  21. I'd love to stay at a fancy place like that. Nothing near that nice on the A-trail here in the USA.

  22. I stayed in literally hundreds of them, even worked in a few of them. I prefer hotels now, but, now that I'm single again, why not!
